Pruitt’s real issue

I never did that first off. My response was to a post that Mack Brown has somehow turned a program around quickly, and that's a false narrative.

It’s not about “turning a program around”

It’s about noticeable improvement. Anyone could have watched that game and know UNC certainly improved.

We know it takes time to turn the program around. You keep spouting “facts” but never offer any, only your opinion.

I thought that was weird as well. What could happen while running gasser that would start a fight? Maybe someone puking on your cleats?
This board is making this too complicated…The point of fighting over gassers..The point is..
If you run gassers for f’ing up…After guys screw up a second time.. a leader gets in the
Screw ups grill and a fight ensues because the leaders get tired of doing the penalties for the
Screwups.

Pruitt’s team in his second season is so bad, that the team is now cheering when they beat themselves?

I'm not sure that it really matters but the process of turning a program around includes noticeable improvement. They go hand in hand.

The time idea is always the sticking point. Some coaches show that positive direction quick and others dont. The interesting part about UNC will be wheres the peak and is it sustained. Our last coach showed improvement. It was built on a shaky foundation and collapsed quicker than the actual climb. And the peak was 2 games less than it should have been.

Lol, it's all opinion unless they play. Do you think we were competitive against Ga St or Flordia?
It doesn't matter, because each game is different. Do you think Appalachian State or Wake Forest is better than Clemson? Cause NC came within a whisker of beating Clemson. Got man handled by WF, and had a blocked field goal to Appy State.

If you think were not far from being a good team, that's your opinion. I have no issue with it. I don't, is that OK?

The problem not an isolated one. We have two major problem: the players suck and the HC is learning on the fly. The '16/'17 classes were horrible. Historically bad. Half of them aren't even on the team, and most of the ones remaining struggle. Then, Pruitt isn't a good coach yet. Maybe never, but learning to be a HC is brutal at any level. I cannot imagine cutting my teeth at the SEC level. He hasn't been a quick learner which exasperates the problem.

Thank you for actual dialogue.

I had hope with the previous coach; however for me it consistently seemed his team “underachieved” even in their good seasons.

Probably one of the main problems for me: Pruitts first 10 games vs his last 6.

Hes put himself in a bad spot.

If hes able to hold it together and find some wins before the season it will be a good thing for several reasons.

I guess my point of the original thread was somewhat lost in the mix. I am curious on what you guys think he can do to at least make it appear we are heading in the right direction? I mean I get you only get 25 guys a year that are yours. He is not happy with what we had/have. I just think you have to find a way to reach the guys that are not yours and make them serviceable.

I think he needs to get harder on the players until the finally reach their "breaking point" to where they either decide to quit or commit all in. The ones that commit will have a new found drive to be better because the hard work they had to endure. They will become extremely disciplined and expect the same discipline out of their teammates as well. The quicker Pruitt gets his players to this point the sooner we will see a turn around and when that happens it will be a major change. So the question is how fast can he get the players to thier "breaking point?"
