Some people just can't deal with change. IMO, it is refreshing to see someone come in with a wild eyed glare and hopefully the experience to back up his comments.

Change was necessary, no fear felt. Hope has it's place but not when wagering.

How could you possibly, as a coach, expect your team to beat the UF's, Bamas, etc. on the schedule if you, as their coach, don't think they can. In case you haven't noticed, look at the UF-UT scores over the last couple of years. This starts in the locker room, not at kickoff.

Great Point. No denying much of the game is mental.

Personally i like the swagger but think it has become a distraction and has gone a little too far. For the record I also believe this has been blown out of proportion and the SEC reacted quickly to save face for it's current poster boy.

I concur.

Truth is the Bear was just as much of an intimidator to SEC coaches then as Spurrier, Meyer and Saban are today.

I agree and would go so far as to say Bear was MORE intimidating than Spurrier, Meyer and Saban. As an opposing fan at the time I would also say he was much more respected.

I have no problem with intimidation (to strike fear), but don't confuse it with annoyance (to irritate). It does not matter how we want to project ourselves but how we are perceived in the eyes of those we are attempting to influence.

Off subject: CLK's primary motive was likely not to intimidate but to rally the fan base.

Being in California, where football is about as big as ultimate frisbee, the war of words is often overlooked. This is the SEC...we bleed this stuff, and I am not for sure CLK understands that yet.

He's learning. In many ways I think he is doing a great job. Perhaps he just needs to polish up on his jabs, work on being subtle yet effective. Calling someone a cheat without having his facts straight only reflects poorly on him. As stated above I do believe this has been blown out of proportion though.

Thanks for the feedback.
