UT Alum, Class of 2005, 1LT Frank Walkup was KIA last this past weekend in Rashad, Iraq. He was a Rifle Platoon Leader with the 25th Infantry Division. He is survived by his wife of one year, his parents, and his eight younger siblings. He made the ultimate sacrifice so that the people in Iraq might one day enjoy the freedoms that all of us are so blessed with.

May our heavenly Father bless and keep the fallen young men's families, that their grief turn to a peace and pride in his brave efforts.

My prayers and gratitude go to Lt. Walkup and his family for his bravery and sacrifice. He gave his life so that we don't have to....a true hero.

The kids of this generation are proving that there is no lack of commitment and courage and that the American spirit lives on....

Love never disappears for death is a non-event.
I have merely retired to the room next door.
You and I are the same; what we were for each other, we still are.
Speak to me as you always have, do not use a different tone, do not be sad.
Continue to laugh at what made us laugh.
Smile and think of me.
Life means what it has always meant.
The link is not severed.
Why should I be out of your soul if I am out of your sight?
I will wait for you, I am not here, but just on the other side of this path.
You see, all is well

-St. Augustine

Peace is yours, Frank.
