It’s the same amount of games that are being played right now if they end up playing for their conference championship lol. You just expand the Championship Game into Championship Weekend and multiple teams are playing a game instead of just 2. Not sure where you are getting too many games from?Too many games, especially for teams who have a shorter bench.
The SEC championship game has been insignificant to our program for decades.I think you have to go to more conference games if you want to kill of the championship game for a play in game option.
are we comfortable not having an SEC champ, or relying on some really dumb tie breakers coming into play, up to and including letting Birmingham choose?
My degree has done me well. If you went to UTC I’d ask if you were born dumb or did you fall and hit your head? There is no reason to play 9 conference games unless we are forced too! I also don’t care about other fans and them not getting as good of games. In the end I want this team to compete for playoffs and NC and that is harder when you go to 9 conference games. It’s hard for me to understand how dumb some of our fans are, especially with having no common sense.Stop posting. You’re devaluing UT-C degrees.
So sure let’s add another potential loss to our schedule to make it even harder! So if you do go to the SEC and to get a high seed, you are going to have to play 10 conference games and hope to win them all. Thats just sound logic lolThe SEC championship game has been insignificant to our program for decades.

I think you go 9 games. 3 permanent opponents, rotate the other 6, have an annual SEC/B1G challenge and then have 2 games to schedule how you want. If you want ETSU or Kent St I have no problem with that. I think if you do that you have to do the 4 auto bids for the SEC and Big 10 and 2 for the ACC and Big 12. Every single Power 4 league should play the same amount of conference games.

If you believe in ESPN’s fpi strength of schedule accuracy, there is only one big 10 team in the top 15 hardest schedules. That is Wisconsin, who plays Bama on their non conference.
The rest of the top 15 are all sec schools with only 8 conference opponents vs the big 10 with 9.
If you want to tell me that espn is full if crap, that is plausible, but it is the only metric we currently have.
Going to 9 sec conference games would instantly make every sec schedule harder than any big 10 schedule, so until the committee starts to understand that you are not what your record says you are, we should stay at 8.
No, i do not think that just having a hard schedule means you are a good team.So if the 12 hardest schedules are for SEC teams - then I'm assuming you would argue those 12 should be playing in the championship?
Those who are selected should have to WIN games! Don't care who you play - to be the best you should be able to beat the best.
Disagree completely with a biased committee determining "who" they think are the best. Just say 2 from the SEC, B1G, ACC and Big 12, then the other four are for the P5 and independents. Will there be some mis-matches - yes - but at least it moves the "whining" around the selections.
