Nice! Cool to see JRM in this position. Fun player to watch at UT, played like a heat seeking middle. And glad to see he’s found a team that really values him and his contributions in Detroit. Combined with Grant Williams being the Vice President of the NBA Players Association, lots of VFLs in leadership positions

Leadership is a soft skill that the fortunate develop. UT clearly doing something right having both he and Grant Williams chosen by their peers in those positions. 🍊

And when you look at ZZ and Shack and many others, it is amazing how Barnes consistently develops first-class men. That’s a coach parents should be looking for.

Not to disagree but I have a feeling that the ground work for developing a good man had already been laid before any college coach became their mentor. Strong family and upbringing is paramount in that endeavor

I don’t disagree, but CRB and staff also get kudos for that because they recruit high-quality people.

It's both. Barnes looks for those qualities in the player's that he recruits and many of the families look for those qualities in the coaches that they choose to allow their son's to play for.
