I can't see Chubb going ahead of any of these guys after that injury. No way.

If he returns in true form, he's going to be a menace. A lot of people forget how badly he shredded teams in 2014.

219 carries 1547 yards

As a FRESHMAN. That's tough to argue with, if he's fully recovered from his injury.

No doubt Chubb was a beast. It's kind of like a car wreck with major front end damage. He's repaired but will never be the same, not only physically but especially in the head. You can't hesitate in the NFL.

I wonder if McCaffrey will be another Toby Gerhart in the NFL

There is no doubt, it is a make a break year for McCaffrey. He opens the season as THE man for Stanford. His QB last year carried that designation and half the season was gone before the freshman got a lot of focus. Let's see how he handles this season.

McCaffrey is the best out of all of them. He is a true AP back, and does everything very well. The NFL covets multiple options out of one player. He brings that.

I think Kamara is going to have a 850 yard 7 yard per carry season.

Oh and Hurd is going much higher. First season with a real oline...

1. Fournette
2. Chubb
3. Cook
4. Hurd
5. McCaffrey

Would kill to see the Falcons pick up Hurd in round 2. After taking Barnett in round 1

OR Hurd could stay another year and be the #1 back in the Draft

This is the strongest runningbacks class in 20 years.

WalterFootball.com: 2017 NFL Draft: Running Back Rankings

Stay another year to play behind a senior, deep oline, and be a top 3 back in the 2018 draft.

This is a defeatest attitude.

So it's the deepest RB draft in 2 decades?? Well, Kamara is near the top of the crop...

So hes going to get drafted early, with one more year of tread on his tires for the NFL.

He's not some dude trying to sneak into round 3 because of a weak draft and good workout. He is a prime weapon. A bigger Chris Johnson.

At the next level, other than 1 or 2 each draft, RBs don't get paid anything like they used to. The game today is such that very few premier backs bring near the value they once did. Teams get greater value from two 3rd & 4th rounders than a single 1st round pick.

It's also a short-lived position. They look at it now like a pitch count: you can only take so many hits in a career. Playing in the SEC takes a heavier toll than most conferences.

So if a junior RB understands the passing game, runs good routes out of the backfield, can move into a receiver's position effectively, and understands the complexities of pass blocking... he really needs to go get paid while he can.

It's an individual decision, but Alvin's extra year in college would have to be worth (to him) at least a season of being paid to play. Once the university has prepared a young man to go make a living, we need to thank him and encourage him to go begin his career. That's another aspect of being a VFL.

Yeah you nailed it down here. RB in the NFL has changed almost as much as staffing the left side of an NFL OLine changed. It's a very unique position now.

Yeah he was the best football player I saw all year last year and it wasn't even close. A shame that boy didn't win the Heisman!!

I agree with this very much, I would like to opine however, that a college season, ( even in the SEC), equates to about half a season the professionals face, when you compare the length of season, number of games and caliber of competition. So an extra year in college, while some risk is there, may not be so foolish, if a rise in draft stock occurs. One year stronger and wiser may out weigh the accumulated college hits, when he gets to the next level.
I think he'll probably go, but it would be nice to see what AK could do with more touches!
THIS IS CRAZY! we are so hyped up, we have already run out of this year and are poking into 2017. Oh well...Might as well kick back and RIDE THE WAVE!!! Come on September, GBO!!
