Projected Starters (Defense)

He's played like a freshman CB in the SEC. The last good ones I can remember were Janoris Jenkins and Stephon Gilmore. Patrick Peterson struggled some as a freshman and Joe Haden was horrible his first year.

Horrible? It was the CB on the other side. Haden was a Fr AA and SEC All Fr. Team. Had 65 tackles and 5 tfl and 12 pbu(5th in the SEC). I'm sure he had his Fr moments but the guy was far from horrible.

Why do you guys get hung up on stars anyway..Ive never understood that...once they sign the stars mean nothing...we just had a 4-star run home to mommy for goodness sake.

You may not realize it, but you just started a star-fight with faderoute.

I'm far from taking up for you as a Gator, but, you're right. Haden was far from horrible.

Mike Wallace is still running by Joe Haden.

Didn't realize he was freshman All American. We thought freshmen All-American DBs from that year should look like EB14(Eric Berry). Oh okay.

How in the Hell could McCullers at 6'6 360 be a 3 star....I would think if you're That big and can run 50 yards without falling over, that alone would warrant 4 stars....JK,but not really. IMO underrated at 3 stars! I'd say come sep1 they'll be a few NC State OLmen that agree.....GBO

Terrence Cody was a 3* also.

I was wondering why you didn't mention EB previously.

Would like to see Jordan Williams get the starting nod at Jack

Explain.

There are a lot of haters out there for Jaq. I understand he hasn't lived up to the high expectations so far. He's still a JR. Also, if JW were "better," he'd be running with the 1's instead of the 2's.

I had to sucker HG into talking about Haden. :)

hook line and sinker.

Haden had his moment for sure but when you're a fr and Meyer plays Pierre-Louis or Marlik Anderson at CB and Kyle Jackson at S you're in a long days sometimes.

This. I believe Smith was built for the Jack position, and expect him to have a break out year. Williams is certainly a solid back up, but there's way too much talk of him taking Smith's spot.

Jenkins was good early, the best Freshman DB I can remember in the SEC was Ko Simpson and he may have been a rFR.

Also... Couch, Sentimore, McCullers together on 1'st and 2nd downs will be extremely stout...

Didn't Ko play for SCAR? If I remember right. I remember Jenkins a lot from that big hit on Hardesty early in our game against them. I was going for the Vols but loved seeing that type of play. Gilmore was good early for SCAR too though. And Honey Badger made a lot of plays from his nickel spot his first year.

Not hating pm Jac, jus think JW is a better playmaker and I expect him to be starting by halfway thru the season

The starters on the Defensive starts look good, but my biggest concern is the second string. With the losses of Kenny Bynum and Christian Harris, I'm worried about injuries occurring to the linebackers.

Do yall think if we lose a linebacker, we would switch back to a 4-3?

No, that wouldn't fix anything. Our 4th LB, the Jack, is basically a DE.
