And when we do why do we blitz 10 yards from the freaking line of scrimmage??????????? Its like playing with 10 or 9 players when we blitz 10 yards back. Its pointless

Does our d line have a sack this year? Might they be the worst in UT/NCAA history? We can't get pressure against UAB's o line??
I mean the QB has ALL the time in the world to throw the ball. It's what lost us the game against FL.

Another blitz 7 yards back from the line of scrimmage by the time he got to the line they already quick passed it. Justin wilcoxs scheme is horrible! Goodness!

We're trying harder to strip the ball than we're trying to tackle.

Been a problem for a while now. I'm not sure J. Smith shouldn't be starting over Chris Walker. Walker has been an average player his entire time here. Smith looks quicker than him.

"Mistackle" . . . where mistake, missed tackle and mystical all meet.

Brought to you by the creators of "Pocket Presents" and the "Shuttle Pass".

No pressure also allows the quarterback to sit and wait for a receiver to get behind both safeties... that has happened too many times today.

UAB is running their offense out of the shotgun and the QB is releasing the ball in the first 5 seconds of it being snapped usually. Your not going to get a lot of pressure on a team run like this.

It's just smart football. They know their offensive line cant compete with our defensive line, so they are using this strategy and it is working good for them.

The truth is our defense should have made some adjustments and didn't. To be honest we should have used this kind of strategy against Florida when we had the exact same problem.

Yeah, especially since Chris Walker is a LINEBACKER playing DEFENSIVE END!!!! Wasn't his choice but he wanted to play. Wasn't his choice to stay there but he did what his coaches wanted him to do at the time. I'm assuming, sir, that if Coach Dooley, Coach Wilcox and Coach Smith, take your advice, you will get your wish vs. LSU!

Have a great evening!

If we ever play a QB who has the pocket presents to use the shuttle pass to take advantage of our mistackles, we'll lose our status as valid victorians.

Well whatever position he plays I seldom see him make much impact. Hope I do get my wish, this season is going to be a mess, might as well start getting the young talented guys some experience.

Going for the big hit instead of wrapping up. Also, poor angles. Austin Johnson had a chance today to make a tackle for a loss but instead he leaves his feet unnecessarily and completely whiffs on the guy

.

Most pass plays for any offense should have the qb releasing the ball in under 5 seconds.

It seems like we are always a 1\2 step late getting to the qb. UAB's O & D line wasn't to shabby, they abused us today

Yeah, totally agree. He seldom makes an impact!:lolabove:
I will never say that this season is going to be "a mess" as you put it. And I certainly don't want that for my son since it's his last season in a UT uniform. I refuse to give up on him and his team. Yes, they are struggling and yes I am frustrated watching Chris agonize over the start to the season. But giving up is NOT an option!

You're a big man who hide behinds your computer screen without knowing what REALLY goes on during the course of the game. I just spent an hour with him and after listening to him I have a better understanding of what the coaches are trying to do. Chris is doing what his coaches tell him to do and if they tell him to drop in coverage, he drops in coverage.

The bottom line is that Chris has given all he has for this football program. He NEVER dreamed that he would be playing defensive end in college. He just wanted an opportunity to play and DE presented him with the best opportunity to play. Linebacker was Chris natural position and that's what he wanted to play.

The good news is that on December 11, 2010, Chris Walker will walk away from this university and this football program with a DEGREE which in the grand scheme of things is by far THE most important thing for me as his parent! So excuse me if your little remarks don't have the punch that you intended. I will be in Baton Rouge next Saturday, in Athens the Saturday after that, etc. I am all Vol!

Chow! And GO BIG ORANGE! :)
