Pride of the Southland playing during Inaugural Parade

I knew they were a constant fixture at the inauguration but I didn't realize they weren't invited for the last one:

The announcement marks the band's return to the presidential festivities after it was not invited to President Barack Obama's second inauguration in January 2013. The band had marched in every inauguration parade since Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in to his first full presidential term in 1965.

Did anyone else notice that Nebraska's band didn't march? What's up with that?

The circle drill never gets old!

I was lucky enough to attend the inauguration with the Pride. Attend, because we didnt march. It was Reagan's second win and we went up with the intent to march but it was so cold the parade was cancelled. We tried to practice on the Pentagon parking lot but slides and value would freeze up quickly. They gathered us in the Capital Center and Ronnie came and spoke to us.

The cold wasnt limited to DC. It was about -20 in Knoxville. Friends bought a keg and just put it on the porch. No need for a barrel or ice

nothing to be sorry about. When we were in the Capital Center there were tv stations interviewing groups. All these HS kids were sobbing cause they had raised all kinds of money and didnt get to march. TV came to us and we were "free trip. Lets go party more". Didnt cost any of us a dime and got to hear Ronnie live. Pretty win-win there.

I got to march in Bush W's 2nd parade. It was cold (not that cold), but the best part was getting flashed by all the coeds from their dorm rooms outside GWU.

It was a big deal when the Pride wasn't invited.
