So you judge your team allegiance on who gives you the best deal like buying a car? Interesting.

Efficiency in entertainment, as it were. Well, I didn't get my money's worth from this team, so I'll go with those guys. Sounds legit.
You’re being willfully ignorant. I know you’re not this dumb.

I judge whether I want to go to events based on how much they cost. If Tennessee is going to charge more than I would like to pay, I will watch at home. If we are going to charge more than better programs do, I will disagree with anyone who says “of course you are paying more for a better team.”

You'll pay more also when the carriage rate goes up for your provider and some will say they get more than you do for less.

Entertainment cost isn't determined by "we won so it was worth it." You either like watching or going and you take your chances on a win or loss.

Its almost to the point for me.

I'm blessed with a sizeable disposable income, but this is getting insane. 4% is over a grand for me.
I live in GA. The big picture for me is not just ticket cost although UT and Ticketmaster are exercising almost total control over ticket pricing. Service fees and increasing ticket prices for individual game tickets is becoming more rediculous every year. For me the additional cost of two night hotel minimums that double the normal hotel cost , food and transportation cost. I bought tickets to UGA , Alabama and Syracuse. I bought 7 tickets to Syracuse at a cost of 1758.00 (5 family members live in Atlanta)I have money to cover all these costs but I have reached my limit. I am staying home next year. White is going to regret the day he assisted in making games unaffordable.

In 1990, south end zone seats were the cheapest tickets requiring a $250 annual donation plus the cost of the tickets, roughly $300. So $550 all in for 6 games. Adjusted for inflation, that's $1350 in 2025.

There are sections in the upper available for 2026 for $390 a seat or $780 for the pair. That's a reduction of $570 for a pair plus typically we have 7 home games a season now instead of 6.
I’m pretty sure most tickets in 1990 were $19.00. So for 7 home games, you’re looking at ~$140 for the tix. Except for the box seats & W. Skyboxes, I think all seats were the same price.

I also live in GA (just south of ATL). I don't stay in Knoxville after a game for a reason. You can drive not all that far and pay "normal" prices.

It won't even be a blip on the radar

TN and its AD do not appreciate nor care much about the rank and file Tennessee fans. Common fans without even modest disposable incomes are being priced out Tennessee football, basketball and baseball.
And iy will not be long before one can not afford the streaming cost needed to watch games on sec+ and other channels. We old people on fixed incomes are being eaten alive by all these price increases and soon they are likely to charge to listen to games on the radio.

You’re right, only Tennessee is treating their own fans like trash.

Listen to yourself. 😂😂😂

Buddy, TN ain't the only one doing it. Gotta keep up with the Joneses in modern college football.
It’s a simple concept. Don’t pay for season tix if you don’t want to pay the asking price. Nobody is forcing anyone to purchase tix.

For now, I will continue to pay and attend the games I want to attend. While I’m not happy about rising prices, I understand.

My box seat at the house has stayed the same price too. The beer is more expensive and the waitress who brings the snacks has gotten quite a bit more grumpy and a bit heav <THWACK....>
“I’m gonna hire a wino to decorate our home…….When the Hamm’s bear says it’s closing time, I won’t have far to fall…..”

Because 17-18 years kids (recruits) find it cool. They say it's for "fan experience." It's for recruit (and family) experience.
And, you’d be surprised the number of casual fans attending games. I personally don’t care about drone shows, though they are cool. But casual fans love them, esp young kids. Maybe I’m wrong but it seems more treat games as a social event while i go for the game itself.

Gas is needed. Attending games is not. And yes, when things are labeled as talent fees, keeping up with the market, etc, etc yes I expect it to be better. Coming off of an embarrassing loss to OSU is just not the place I would expect another price gouge to be announced. Not really a fair comparison. The fair comparison would be saying gas is going up X because we are putting research into this gas and expect it to go further or be better on your engine. Then yes, maybe it’s worth it.
It’s not a talent fee. We made the playoffs- an huge accomplishment!

Everyone got whipped by Ohio st in the playoffs.

I had season tickets in the 70s...80s...and part of the 90s. I sold my share back to my group in 1997 with the intentions of returning in the mid 2000s. I found out after a spell that 700 mile roundtrip several times per year....hotel...food...crowd...traffic...wasn't near as good as my den. Age has a way of doing that....it was my choice and I've never looked back.

A buddy and I, paid $125 each for a couple tickets back in 1991... a day before game. They were for sale in the classifieds of the Tennesseean back then.
Drove to Southbend the next day for the game.
Sometimes there's nothing like being there..

Go Vols!
