Malone is the only guy listed above who plays the same position as Preston and Malone is way better at this stage. Jennings is the one who beat him out and I don't think you will find anybody who says we should put Jennings on the bench. Preston started at the first of the year and then started dropping balls and fumbling which led to Jennings having the spot. Last year people left and right were complaining about us playing too many WR's and this year people are complaining about us sticking to the starters.

Well on the bright side, everybody will be hurt equally.
Because I have never seen a top program, not have a player here and there, transfer when they get beat out.

Bama just had five star Blakely transfer 2 weeks ago. Bet they recover.
And before you say "that's Bama", I picked them because they were the most recent. I could find one from every single big program.

He can feel like whatever he wants but the truth is he had his shot early this season and he blew it. We almost lost to App State because he couldn't hold onto a TD pass then he complained about it into the 3rd quarter. Snap and clear after a mistake, don't bring the whole team down because you don't agree with how a rule is written. I wish him good luck where ever he goes. It appears he would fit into a Big 12 offense where receivers are rarely contested by the secondary.

great move for Preston. He needs to go west where they don't play as much defense. Maybe he can consistently catch then. Good luck in your future endeavors Mr. Williams. We wish you great success.

Wow, 52 pages in a hurry. Point is Williams has blown too many opportunities this year. He has dropped too many critical passes. Nobody is perfect and he was still developing. But you can't expect to keep getting opportunities when other players have stepped up.

I still think he is making a bad choice. He should have stuck it out and kept fighting. He's only a sophomore. Also, our offense will likely transition to a more pass-oriented one next year. Still, if he wants to go elsewhere. There's the door.

When you recruit at a high level, there is going to be some leave. In William's case, I hate losing him, but it seemed there are plenty of other guys in his position group that are willing to work harder than him. Jennings and Byrd, just to name two.

And McKenzie and Jefferson could have been head cases here as well. It is real easy for fans to question the takes and passes recruiters make on players, especially when we have spent zero time getting to know them all.

Good post.

I think the argument has become futile though.
1st it was the staff's fault because the scheme, then posters offered rebuttals
2nd it was the staff screwing up future recruiting, once again rebuttals
3rd it was the staff in past recruiting.

At some point, it becomes obvious that dung is being thrown in hopes that at least some of it sticks.
I'm sure we did take a chance on a five star with an "iffy" attitude - just like every other top program in the country.

Everyone needs to stop with the "losing a 5 star" stuff. He's not a 5star. He's a sophomore. Your ranking doesn't mean anything once you start school. The guys who think it does end up like Williams...

Maybe cooler heads will prevail and he will stick around. I'm sure he's frustrated. He has the ability to be a phenomenal reciever.
