Preston Williams leaving (John Brice confirmed)

I have a father and a step father that both taught me right from wrong, both taught me that you have to work hard for things in life and not everything is going to get handed to you and I'm a millennial. I get tired of getting lumped into being a millennial like it's some kind of shame to be one. Every generation has had the generation before talking down on it, which is moronic because they're the ones that raised the said generation that they're looking down on.

I agree, and I still say Dr Spock (not the Trekky) started it all. His and all the following self improvement books by the quacks of the generations are the bane of society.

I remember a night when Preston Williams was still in high school and his high school football team played on TV. There was a live thread going on during that game about his performance. For the entire game he acted like an arrogant childish immature idiot on the football field for the entire game. I knew he was going to be a problem at UT before he even step foot on campus. I remember getting completely chastised by Vols fans on here. I called it then that he would not last very long at Tennessee. So I guess it's an I told you so situation for me.

I remember commenting that I didn't want him at UT at that time.....

This is a big loss. His upside was looking to be a big part in our offense moving forward.

But to those saying he was misused and it's the coaches fault, the coaches didn't make him drop easy passes or fumble away the opportunities he was given. He never showed the consistency needed to earn starts over Malone or Jennings. It is what it is.

His egotistical self can go, he's already on twitter touting about Georgia direct messaging him. He was never a vol for life, don't let the door hit ya on the ass on the way out.

Wrong Twitter user. His Twitter handle is @ThResort.

Boondoggle by Butch and Debord.
Lots of better qualified than myself saying he was misused in the offense.

not good.

This drives me crazy. There are only so many plays that can be run in a game. We have all kinds of play makers on the offense and others waiting behind them.

If you use the receivers more, you use the running backs less. If you pass to the receivers, you are not passing to the tight ends. If you give one receiver more playing time, another receiver is on the bench.

Players have to compete for the positions and playing time. And the offense needs to run the plays that work.

Which player would you suggest that the offense use less? Dobbs? Hurd? Kamara? Malone? Jennings? ....

Exactly. The whole "scheme" thing is a bunch of bull crap. He didn't execute easy plays while he was here. That's all on him.

The decision to take freshmen wideouts Brandon Johnson and Marquez Callaway to tonight's Vol Calls looks even more interesting now.

Labels are labels as appointed by men. To be a man you should shed such labels and stand for yourself

Everyone trying to downplay the talent of Preston is insane! This kid could ball and we simply under utilized him. With a player like him, we just need to throw it up regardless if he is covered or not. This one really, really hurts because I had high hopes for him coming into the year and it sounded like CBJ and staff worked really hard in trying to develop this young man.

I have no doubt in my mind that he will excell and turn into a great football player wherever he goes..my guess is Clemson will happily snag him up..

Who will Clemson cut to take him?

Hate it for the team, but sometimes it's best for the unhappy ones to go ahead and leave. Leaves a spot for someone else to step up, and they will. GBO!
