Well he's from Georgia...Will we be seeing him against Georgia Tech next year? I'd imagine he can't go to a team on our schedule.

Wish him all the best. Really shined in a couple of games last year...with Dormady.

No!!!!! Dammit he's one of my favorite players on this team, and I know he would have a breakout year next year. And for those talking about drops, he has 9 catches on 12 targets, a better catch rate than Malone, Jennings, or Kamara and he's our greatest deep threat. Ever since he committed to us a year and a half in advance of his signing day, after we lost 9-10 to FL I loved this guy. Ughhhhhhh

Not to bash the kid i hope he finds what he's looking for. But his production and development never lived up to his billing. And his targets by Dobbs is going down not up. I know he he talent but we are not seeing any manifestations of it in the field.

Who knows how it will play out. Sheriron did this, thought about it, and came back reborn hard.

But if he doesn't want to be here and we won't get any contribution and he isn't able to reach his potential here then good luck to the young man I hope it works out for him.

I'm sure if the thought he wasn't getting enough touches, he won't be going to a triple option offense.

His point was you have no clue that Byrd and PW don't even play the same position. Never have never will.

Never insinuated they did, I was merely pointing out Byrd's hustle and toughness compared to Williams. I wouldn't blame them for starting Byrd over quite a few of our wide receivers.

He can play next year?

If he completes 12 hours at JC and meets other criteria. That's the plan Blake Barnett is following. Not a slight, but is that going to be easy for a guy that had to take the ACT twice?

Highly touted prospect that didn't translate well into college. Oh well, it happens. It opens up a spot for our other young WR's to develop. Williams is going to have to learn though that this is big boy ball. If you're not doing your part for the team, someone else will. Good luck to him.

I'm pretty sure if he transfers right now he'll be eligible this time next year. Might be wrong but I thought I read an article on why Alabamas backup qb transferred so early and that's what it said

Yes. The Alabama QB enrolled in a JUCO and will only have to miss the first few games next season according to the article I read:

Texas A&M, others, reaching out to Alabama transfer Blake Barnett

A source close to Barnett tells 247Sports that he enrolled Thursday at Palomar Junior College in California, where he will attend school through the spring semester, which ends May 27. From there, Barnett, a class of 2015 five-star recruit per the 247Sports Composite, will return to the FBS ranks of college football to play most of the 2017 season

Even if he's successful in completing the JC loophole, he wouldn't be eligible until the 7th game next season.

Jennings and Malone are doing fine. Malone has the most yards and is averaging about 57 yards/game with 5 TDs, Jennings is averaging 47 yards/game with 3 TDs. I still think we could pass more, if not this season, then next season when JG or QD take over. Ultimately I think our talent at WR is being underused, but that's just my opinion.

Everyone trying to downplay the talent of Preston is insane! This kid could ball and we simply under utilized him. With a player like him, we just need to throw it up regardless if he is covered or not. This one really, really hurts because I had high hopes for him coming into the year and it sounded like CBJ and staff worked really hard in trying to develop this young man.

I have no doubt in my mind that he will excell and turn into a great football player wherever he goes..my guess is Clemson will happily snag him up..

You can't transfer out of classes at this point (mid-term). If he left school right now, he wouldn't have any course credits for this semester.

Boondoggle by Butch and Debord.
Lots of better qualified than myself saying he was misused in the offense.

not good.

I hope I don't get anyone's panties in a wad, but this may be a good decision for him.

I'm one to agree with you. He's not done a single thing since the VT game. That's a sign of something not right. He killed VT but against these other teams that past 4 games he's done absolutely nothing. It's a scheme problem & it's also a Tyler Byrd problem for him.

Tyler has been doing better than him so I guess Preston just couldn't handle the scheme we're using on offense. Let him go somewhere else to maybe give a program something somewhere else.

Do we know for certain that this decision is strictly football related? Maybe there's more to it than that.
