Is he fully healthy? The first half of the App St game he looked great - 5 catches, 50 yards or something like that. Then he's basically disappeared since then. I know it was rumored he had a mild injury after the 1st of the App St game, but I didn't know if it was still bothering him or not? I saw him on the field this weekend obviously with the pass off of his head, but other than that not much. Does anyone know if the injury is still lingering? Did we realize we were using him too much and decided to go vanilla since there isn't much film on him (stupid if this was the case)? I just think he'll be huge for us this weekend because of his swag and attitude on the field. He doesn't really get punked out by anyone and I think we'll need that this weekend against the UF defense (I'm slightly concerned everyone but him, Hurd, and Kamara will come out scared against that D). Sorry for the long post, just looking for some info on P Will.

I agree. I think Preston needs to have a big game for us to win this one. It's time for him to catch fire.

Yeah, he looked fantastic at the start of the App State game and then nothing since. I highly doubt that Butch is just purposely sandbagging his talents to surprise Florida. I just really want this highly touted 5* to produce. Is that so much to ask lol? For a 5* to pan out?

I'm not so sure he's hurt so much as can't catch the ball. He's talented as can be but seems to have brick hands. While Malone and Jennings have looked pretty impressive when we go down field(rarely) or are competing for balls in the end zone. I'm very impressed with Malone so far.

Lol, he dropped one pass. Have you seen him catch on the ball machine one handed? He's got a lot of talent and ability. No idea without breaking down film why he hasn't been targeted more.

Catching from a machine one handed in practice is one thing, catching in a game being covered is another. I don't doubt his ability.

UPDATE: REPORT FROM TUESDAY'S PRACTICE

P. Williams underwent concussion protocol in the Ohio Game following his attempt to catch a pass with his face.

He spent the rest of the game being untrusted by Dobbs who didn't want another deflected interception. Especially when Malone would catch the ball.

Also, E. Wolf is being treated for brick hands.

hes gotta grow up. Came in talking big, was given the opportunity to perform but mistakes and injuries have resulted in nothing much to brag about. Tennessee really needs him to man up.

He's dropped one in each game; one was a sure TD, and the other was an int. to OHio.

What is it about our receivers? If they are not underperforming, they are hurt. Been this way for three years.

I'm more concerned about Josh Smith's health. Preston has had some drops at clutch moments..and Smith seems to make catches when they are really needed. Gonna have to throw a lot to win this game and most of all keep feeding Malone

uh, he was stripped of a td. he was hit in the hands and knocked the ball 8 feet in the air for an int.

Yea... a drop is a drop. The fact that it turned into an interception doesn't make it a worse play somehow. The "strip" on the TD arguably was a bad call, but either way, certainly not a drop.

I really hope they start using Byrd more like Percy Harvin. He looked so fast in the couple times he's touched the ball. Can't wait to see him actually get the ball with a chance to make some people miss.

When ppl say, "we're gonna open up the playbook" this is the guy I think they're referring too. I also believe he'll get some more touches this week though.

How "talented" is a WR who can't catch? seems like catching would be #1 talent required to be a receiver.
