ESPN's Wendy Nix just reported that Justin Wilcox is on his way to Tennessee and the Vols will name him the DC this afternoon.

I'll bet Chuck is the man. Probably part of the reason why Wilcox is the choice for DC. He's younger and probably doesn't have a long working relationship with any DL, LB, or DB coaches yet.

I'm definitely not trying to downplay the coach, just may be part of the deal. He seems to have a pretty good background no longer than he's been out there.

I've spent the last 30 min reading up on this guy and man, what he did against TCU was pretty amazing. They wore those guys out. I look at it as an impressive young hire. GO VOLS. I was also reading on the BSU boards and they absolutely worship this guy. I couldn't find what defense he runs though, guessin it's a 4-3 cause I don't see Boise getting the type of D-Line you need to run the 3-4, but hey, what do I know?? Help me out guys, let the educating begin!!!

Both, I'm sure. However, I hope to hear Chuck Smith announced as the DL coach too. We're going to need these coaches to get the most out of the guys we have on the roster, cause not having a DC or DL coach prior to this killed us on the defensive side of the ball.

I bet Copeland would've stayed with the Vols if he knew he'd be coached by Chuck. Can't blame him for bolting for a program that is more of a known quantity, and has had some stability on the coaching staff.

I don't know, but I doubt this. He was wooed by Orgeron and Monte, and he woulda stayed until LSU make a huge push. I think he was staying by default until the Hatter visited him.

I heard that wilcox was not going to be introduced tonight? has that changed...i think it would be a good idea and also to get on the phone and get chuck smith here...

I can watch it on utsports.com, it pulls up that cbs player and it wont work on my computer. Anywhere else I can watch it?

espnu might show part of it. they have reporters in knoxville, gainsville, and less angledisease. so i would say they will show parts of each
