I live 20 mins by metro from the center of DC and haven't been in two or three months. Restaurants even in "nice" areas are starting to shut down or make changes because the crime is so bad. About the only place we go anymore is right at the National Mall and some places in Penn Quarter, with the occasional trip into Chinatown for the arena. We wouldn't go to the arena at all if the metro stop wasn't basically in its basement.
