It's 100% true if you're paying any attention. They only cried about it when the opposing party was in power. When they get the opportunity to do something there is no change. Neither party nor their voters really care about spending. They only care that the other side gets to spend it instead of them

I don’t think you can say they don’t because what are their other options? Not vote or vote for the Democrat? I do get that it’s the problem in the primaries. I often vote against incumbents that don’t practice what they preach once they get to DC.

If you're not voting for fiscal conservatives then it's not an issue you actually care about. You simply want your tribe to win a competition

I do vote for fiscal conservatives. Often times they don’t win. The ones that do can’t override their entire party in DC. It’s not as simple as you make it out to be wrt the mechanics of it all.

No one Republican or Democrat will cut spending. It’s just a basic greedy human reaction when you have access to a pocketbook that, in the grand scheme of things, you contributed nearly zero to. Politicians are lizard people no doubt.

This comment is somewhat puzzling. What is a man to do when faced with electing a Weekend at Bernie's clone versus a guy that may not be as fiscally conservative as we like but won't pass the green new deal either?
