President Joe Biden - Kamala Harris Administration

Clyburn on GOP Investigations: DOJ and Its Work Are 'Part of the Administration' So Congress Shouldn't Interfere

Are Democrats saying DOJ is not independent of the White House, that Garland is Biden's personal lawyer and should be impeached?
I hear a karmic echo.

"...by stating the Department of Justice and its investigations are “part of the administration, and we ought not be interfering with the Justice Department doing its work.”

Clyburn stated, “I don’t know what it takes for people not to understand that this is a democracy. This is a body of the Congress that we are trying to maintain credibility with, and we’re not going to do that by opening up all kinds of suspicions about the institutions in our society. I know a little bit about the institutions not being trusted. We need to build trust in these institutions, and you cannot do that by opening up investigations into the investigations that are, in fact, taking place. That’s exactly what they’re talking about doing. They want to investigate the investigations that are underway by the Justice Department that ought to be independent of all that we do here. That is part of the administration, and we ought not be interfering with the Justice Department doing its work.”

The brazen irony.
Clyburn: I Have 'No Confidence' in Barr Investigating Floyd Death
Democratic House Whip James Clyburn Says Supreme Court Could Soon Be ‘A Throwback To Plessy V. Ferguson’

The hypocrisy alone makes you want to reopen the old WWII internment camps democrats used on the Japanese Americans and put leftists in them.

Clyburn should call his statement the bob and weave.

Would that fall under treason or espionage? Imagine if all of this came out prior to him running.

Just an honest mistake; no need to exaggerate it to 'treason' as if he's some parent protesting at a school board meeting..
Besides, 95% of the documents have been redacted by Chocolate Chip drool/smears and thereby pose no intel danger.

Vanilla ice cream with sprinkles on it makes it acceptable, because if you have ice cream you are innocent. Because it's ice cream

Ukraine, weird that of all the countries tied to Biden it's Ukraine. From withholding aide as a VP tied to his son being investigated to the war now.
All of the political top dogs in this country have ties to Ukraine. Their kids have "jobs" in firms there, they're funneling "art", money, and "aid" through Ukrainian operations, and more.

Is it any wonder why there was near unanimous support to dump American taxpayer resources into it? And then lie about how it's the only instance of a sovereign country invading another sovereign country in decades?

It's unfortunate that those that fall for everything media Trump allowed Biden to joke about withholding aide to the world until Ukraine fired the one investigating Hunter.

No one is above the law (or so I was repeatedly told).

The mere presence of such documents in an unsecured location represents a grave national security threat (or so I was repeatedly told).

I agree no one is above the law. If Biden did something illegal, investigate it and act accordingly. But don't be a tool and act like there are no differences between the two cases. When these were discovered, the national archives were notified and they were returned. In that respect, it's open and shut. That didn't exactly happen with Trump. And you know that. In fact, he may STILL be withholding classified docs.

he did do something illegal - he had them in his possession - don't be a tool an act like that's not an issue

I never said they were the same - I was pointing out common complaints about Trump's situation that are in fact the same as Biden's yet you seem to conveniently ignore them.

if the possession of classified documents is a threat to national security then that is true in both cases

Biden did indeed possess said documents so he violated the law and should not be above the law

Not sure what's so hard to understand about that
