President Joe Biden - Kamala Harris Administration

So @volinbham back to my initial point I was trying to get to before we went down the BB rabbit hole… again.

IF this really happened then I think the issue relates to the allocation window and not involving Congress. By law the WH can play games but they have to notify Congress as it’s Congress’s bucket of money not the WH. Trump was out of bounds on this and Biden very well could be also we don’t know enough yet. From what I’ve read today that’s the rub. Playing games on allocation and not involving Congress. Would have to know the deadline for the allocation to know if they missed some deadline within the normal FY2021 end. But even if they did Biden has a compliant Congress so that faux pas is already buried I’m sure if it occurred at all.

I can't tell without more reporting how long (if) Biden delayed the funds. They are claiming they are released but the reporting was that they were on hold (though it doesn't say when). It's possible for both things to be true - Biden put them on hold but has since released them (just as Trump did). The GAO says policy reasons are illegal and the reporting on the Biden hold is that it was a policy decision but as you suggest, no one cares when it's the guy on your team.

the fact check should have rated it as somewhere between true and false - 90% of the money was received by the deadline

if you reread your posts you say the money wasn't received by the deadline when almost all of it was.
The fact check drew the line in a way to paint it badly for Trump. Look at the initial statement it was all funds being delivered early or something like that. No they weren’t in fact they were barely inside the end of the FY. BUT they were within the year thus legal. But not overtly “early”

The rest of the trash is completely unrelated and details how DoD SPENT the money after it was allocated. The “fact check” is loaded trash.

That is ridiculous. Ukraine was to receive aid from those allotted funds by September 30, and in the case of $35 million... it had not been fully allocated, and an additional provision had to be written into an appropriations bill to account for it - this was only necessary because of Trump's freeze.

this is where you are playing games - none of your earlier posts (your comments) had this qualifier.

No, it shouldn't have, because they were fact checking a claim by Trump (included in the first paragraph), where Trump said that "ALL" of the aid had been received on schedule. That claim was wrong.

Yep. I don’t know that we’re ever going to get the whole story.

But my point is these two examples are nearly identical in basic circumstance. One is just Orange Man Bad while the other is “Well Joe is clearly just responding to Russian deescallation” which is horse **** he must deliver those funds by law within the imposed deadline whatever that may be.

My statement was correct and factual. Suck it up buttercup

LOL - then all fact checks would be 100% true or 100% false. Read any one that is "mostly true" or "mostly false" or half way - they never go full literal.

If the claim had been all received on schedule then it would be "mostly true" per fact check SOP. Since they included the "way ahead of schedule" it moves the needle more towards half way since it the bulk of the money was not way ahead of schedule.

LOL. Which one of us is playing a game of semantics here?

Again. His very first statement never had a chance. “Ukraine did not receive the funds in time.” No basic currency was ever in play that I can tell it was all DoD goods and services allocation best as I can tell.

OMFGROTFLMFAO they do not use Western Union to put a check in their hands you completely ignorant rube!

BB is thinking about how obama handled such things - like flown in pallets of cash delivered nefariously in the middle of the night rather than routine electronic transfers.

That is an outright lie. The Ukraine did not receive the aid by September 30th. We have been over that before.
Just so we’re all clear, here is the first reply. And it was doomed in its basic statement. The aid in the form of funds was never going directly to Ukraine. It was allocated to DoD for contract issuance. Which went well into calendar year 2020 which should not be surprising to anybody familiar with the procurement process and paying attention.

Edit: my apologies that was actually reply FOUR and I want to be exacting since we are all concerned on accuracy here.

Huh? I remember sitting with my grandmother as she was nearing the end of her life and she did this very thing. She ended up just repeating the same thing over and over or asking the same questions. This isn’t beating up on Biden, this is feeling sorry for him more than anything. There are some people close to him that should be ashamed of putting him through this.
