Now, it seems, that posters only come here for affirmation of their already existing opinions. Dissenting views are met with hostility ... and this has become a boring forum.

Weird, because any time I've attempted conversation with you I get "whataboutism" or "that's not what this thread is about". You're just as guilty as those you're lambasting. You don't want honest conversation. You want to bash one side while ignoring the sins of your own side. You're a one-man echo chamber for your Democratic beliefs.

He wouldn't have had the opportunity if we could secure the border. As is, Biden hasn't even attempted to control the border. Hell, is Harris still considered the "border czar"? It's ridiculous how porous the Biden administration has allowed the border to become. Where's your criticism of that? Or are you too busy echoing that this was a publicity stunt by De Santis to comment on that?

How has that not applied to any border town? How has that not applied when planes of immigrants land in the middle of the night in a Jacksonville FL, for example, directed by Bidens admin?

Political forums should also be a place where people can reach some commonality from time to time sorta like the Ukraine thread but it doesn't have to be everyone.

In your post about DeSantis you deny the real "why's" of how Desantis was even in a position to move illegal aliens in the first place. In this case you were addressing a symptom instead of the root cause. Your argument centered around blaming Desantis while ignoring the real issue. You refused to come to terms with it. It didn't matter that Desantis wasn't playing Mr Nice Guy because he is not the root cause of the issue. I don't know why the very people who break the rules in the first place get bent out of shape when someone else doesn't "play fair". It's appalling.

As far as liberal, you aren't a classic liberal. You're progressive, and there are a lot of progressives on the board. The issue is they disappear like thieves in the night because it's hard to support their arguments with facts. I admit you have a sticktoitness about you.

Progression of events and the lefts response:
Massive groups of people defy our laws and spit on our nations right to sovereignty= Meh

Current administration does nothing to combat the issue, and lie about border security daily= Meh

Cities and States establish “Sanctuaries” for lawbreakers that only encourages more illegal activity = Meh

DeSantis flies a group of people into Martha’s Vineyard rather than Boston = OMG!!! This tyrannical literal Hitler!!! WTF is he doing!! This is cruel!!!!

I did not equate it to any tyrants; past or present. That is your own dumb hyperbole - not mine.

I have called it a transparent publicity stunt by DeSantis, aimed at scoring points with his party's base through cheap amusement. It's the kind of political ploy which is sometimes referred to as "owning the libs" on forums such as this.

You actually have a point here. The gov is a Republican and yes only he can mobilize the NG so the optics are on him. But I’d also guess he doesn’t want a bunch of pissed off wealthy Dems mad at him on MV if they asked for NG and he said no. We will of course never know the answer to that.
