The Spanish also had outright slavery long before the 1600s in the US. and there were criminal cases where the punishment was lifetime of "indentured servitude".

Trump Demands Fed Governor Lisa Cook Resign Amid Mortgage Fraud Allegations​

President Trump on Wednesday called on Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook to resign on the basis of allegations made by one of his political allies about mortgages she holds in Michigan and Georgia, intensifying his effort to gain influence over the central bank.

Trump has also told aides he is considering attempting to fire her, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, citing a senior White House official and another person familiar with the matter. Reuters could not immediately verify the report.

Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte alleged in a post on X earlier on Wednesday that Cook had designated a condo in Atlanta as her primary residence after taking a loan on her home in Michigan, which she also declared as a primary residence.


Loans for a primary residence can carry easier terms than for second homes or investment properties. Pulte said the loans date to mid-2021, before Cook was appointed to the Fed by former President Joe Biden and confirmed by the Senate the following year.

I think slavery is like rape or murder. its bad no matter when it happens.

if you want to stick to the facts, stick to the facts of what life was like for the slaves.

That's fine...but staying that some used thier time as slaves and developed things after because of their time as a slave is a fact as well correct. But that's not allowed to be talked about because slavery is bad. Again forcing current moral standards on the past is ingornat. Even rape and murder were accepted practices at 1 point in time .it wasn't viewed as rape or murder .we assigned those words by modern standards. Rape and murder are still accepted in some cultures today.
