its kinda the same with the dems. my future brother in law and his wife live just on the virginia side of DC. they refuse to get another car, because of crime. are afraid to have children, because of crime. won't go most places in DC outside of the Mall, because of crime. they won't even go to one of their favorite restaurants anymore, because of crime. but they will tell you to your face there is no crime problem.

its dramatically shaped their lives, but they will say there isn't a problem.
