President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

GOP Rep. Mike Kennedy compared the unreleased Epstein files to “a festering oil-infected wound with pus underneath” in response to a question about whether he would vote in favor of releasing the documents during a virtual town hall this evening.

Kennedy, a practicing physician in Utah, said that such injuries can either be left to “fester and potentially that’s going to grow inward and create infection in your bloodstream and cause the whole body to be sick.” Or a doctor can “put a needle or a knife in it and cut it open and let it drain.

“In the case of this Epstein stuff, absolutely let it out,” he said.

You're the one who claimed it's purely political. I just stated some facts why it may not be political. Give me some real technical reasoning as to why he should lower the rates
I never claimed it was “purely political”. Those are words you assigned to me.
I was responding to another that brought up the political angle, and agreed that he’s playing politics. Which is true, at least partially.

He can’t be seen as sacrificing the independence of the Fed (rightfully). So he cannot kowtow to Trump’s outbursts - which while the correct action, is inherently a political action.

The Market had priced in multiple cuts.
Multiple Fed governors are in favor.
Central Banks around the world have cut.
The tariffs were a known.

Current inflation is 2.6-2.7
Fed Funds rate is over 4.25

Should have had a rate cut by now.
Would have had a rate cut by now, save for Trump’s fat mouth.

Ok. You are aware the inventory we are selling from the big retailers was purchased,by and large, before the new tariffs kicked in, right? Inflation is TECHNICALLY a lagging indicator of policy. You must realize it takes close to year for policy changes to be a catalyst, right? That's the science of monetary policy. Yes, technically speaking, economics is a science

Put your discerning mind to work and observe that I’ve been bitching about Trump’s tariffs since 2016 - long before many took issue.
I’ve repeatedly reaffirmed that they are inflationary, and damaging.

Stop constructing strawmen to argue against. It’s unbecoming.

I don’t know what “Pard” connotes in this context. I have no idea if I should be rageful in this instance.
It means I consider your point diplomatically. Damn, you're considering a "rage full" response? You shouldn't have a rageful response in any situation if care about being a responsible and thoughtful adult. Geezus

$3B for renos is just insane
We are in year 7 of this remodel. They have to adhere to fed regs about buildings regarding security for terrorism. Blast doors and windows and the like. I'd like for someone to point to what features they take issue with as supposed to the cost. Also you are regurgitating the Trump number. Which Powell smacked down

My first sentence was sincere. I personally felt the second sentence was dripping. I don’t do blue.

Your random YouTube videos are basically flat earth for progressives

Im not one to defend this poster's honor (i generally think what they post is akin to the maga equivalents on this board) but coffeezilla has been exposing scam artists on the internet for years. If you watch the video there's nothing in there that's flat earther level.

South Park is not at all "the left" and the creators just inked a mind-numbing $1.5b deal, so I'd say they're still pretty relevant.

Wait, does that mean that they've made more honest $* than Trump, who was born on 3rd base?

*And they didn't become billionaires just by creating a popular cartoon (and a hit broadway show). They were shrewd businessmen. They had the vision and saw the value in streaming and negotiated for those rights in the early 2000's. Viacom doesn't even exist anymore, but it's still kicking itself.

If people think Southpark are "leftists" then they really are part of a lunatic cult.
