President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

It was edited but it wasn't deceitful. She was sniffling and complaining of a mold allergy. Interviews of politicians are edited literally all the time. Fox and other have edited Trump's interviews routinely.

Nothingburger.

Lmfao “mold allergy”.

Do I think the lawsuit was dumb? Yes. Do I think they would’ve treated Trump the same way? Absolutely not.

The nothing burger is pretending that firing a man who is costing the company millions every year is in some way a sign of pressure from Trump.

Colbert, Kimmel, and Fallon are all hemorrhaging viewers because they all skewed far left and honestly, into far left propoganda. Letterman was left of center but when it was called for, he'd make fun of Ds. That no longer exists. Its 100% TDS on network late night now.

Comedy Central skews significantly younger so not apples to apples comparison. Stewart, to his credit, will skewer a D politican, as needed. Late night on ABC, CBS, and NBC is watched by on average by someone drawing delayed social security. Those people are overwhelmingly R.

Agree with you that Colbert isn't all that funny but his issue is he went way too far left with his content and away from what the market dictated..
I still think Jon Stewart would draw big ratings in that same CBS time slot that Colbert had. He has built a loyal viewership over time, who have shown that they will follow him anywhere he goes.

Made fun of Trump, sure.
Protected Biden/liberals as the good guys, problem.

It’s really not that hard to understand why he’s being cancelled. Liberal protection is being exposed.
Are you kidding? Darrell Hammond,SNL, absolutely made fun of Gore. It was hilarious because Hammond looked like Gore. Humorously eviscerated him. Gore laughed. Same thing happened to Bush and Obama. They both laughed it off. They did it to Trump, BUT he spent the wee hours of Sun am hurling vile personal insults at them. That's all well documented. Weak and insecure in front of God and the whole world

You are over-complicating the situation. Trump is an infant and can’t handle being ridiculed . He is a soft, fragile pansy as are his supporters that are triggered by a comedian ridiculing Trump.
It’s actually not that hard. You’re zigging and zagging without acknowledging the protection Colbert gave democrats and platform as guest from Biden, Harris to Schiff. If we are discussing soft, call a spade a spade when it comes to liberal lies spread on his show instead of pandering.

Reaching into the vault with this struggle. Different political landscape at that time.

I think Stewart is smart enough to adapt. Liberals got mad at him last year because he criticized/made fun of Biden's age and diminished capacity. Stewart puts laughs first and politics second. That was Colbert's issue. He did the opposite.

Big 3 late night is dead though to bring in someone established like Stewart. I dont think Stewart would want it either...

Paramount owns CBS. Paramount wants to merge with Skydance Media, but they need FCC approval (aka Trump's) to finalize the deal. That's the main reason CBS paid Trump 16 million to settle the lawsuit, even though the unedited footage proves that Kamala was accurately quoted in the interview. 16 million is a drop in the bucket to Paramount.

Fast forward to Colbert, he was cancelled just days after being critical of Trump on CBS.

This is all just bowing to Trump and kissing the ring in order for Paramount to get what they need - the merger approval. Just rich people wanting to get richer, all it is.
Yes just mere “day after being critical of Trump”. Has there been a time where Colbert hasn’t been critical of Trump? I’m sure his ratings sucking and ad buying being at record lows has nothing to do with him being fired.

It was days after being critical of his employer CBS. That’s what got him fired

CNN Doctor Who Raised Alarms Over Trump Diagnosis Is an NAACP 'Health Equity' Director, Not a Practicing Physician

A CNN doctor who painted a dark picture of President Donald Trump's health appears not to have practiced medicine since her residency, instead spending her career as a diversity, equity, and inclusion specialist. She is also an "apostle" of a church whose leader describes Trump as the "antichrist."

You’ve never been involved in a lawsuit have you?
not as plaintiff/defendant, no. just as a witness.

I very much doubt Trump himself would have to spend any real time or have any real stress over the matter. its not like Trump hasn't liberally used lawsuits in the past to his own benefits.

I don’t think anyone with any medical knowledge is even mildly concerned about that diagnosis.

Settling was a win/win for Trump. He was never going to get anything close to a billion dollar judgment so taking the 16mil and throwing egg in the face of CBS without the risk of a trial was a smart decision.

Hmmm ....

Opinions from Native Americans/the Indigenous will vary on whether or not "redskin" is an epithet or slur, but I have never seen or heard any of them call it an "honor" to be referred to as a "redskin." At the very least, it is a coarse description. The article I posted up above, is from someone who identifies herself as being a Native American, and for what it's worth, she does consider the term "redskin" to be racist .... with her general point being that white people should stop speaking for them on the matter of what is and isn't offensive to them.

..... and yes, the subject of what an NFL team chooses to use as a nickname, is a trivial matter. Regardless of who it is, Obama or Trump, the President of the United States should have better things to do than get involved in such a matter. Trump had it right in 2013. He should have left it that way.

I can’t stand Trump and I still think he’s mistreated by the media. It can be true that Trump is a douche and also true that the media establishment hates him and is biased. What’s funny is that they try to paint him as an unprofessional crybaby. ( Which is true). Then they act just as badly. When it comes to dealing with Trump, the media are not the adults in the room.

That comedian has been ridiculing him for nearly a decade now. What’s your evidence he can’t handle it?

My mother and father were from the WW2 generation. Both Democrats. Stayed up every night to watch JC. Both worked harder and were more accomplished than you. Same for most people of that generation. Nice try
WWII generation democrats were a totally different breed. They focused on the economy and the working man instead of cultural insanity. Most of them would be kicked out of a DNC meeting today. Or they would probably leave of their own accord once they heard party leaders started taking about allowing men into women’s locker rooms, drag queens reading books to children in the library, taxpayer funded sex change operations for inmates, unfettered immigration, and calls to destroy the state of Israel.
As a child of a WWII vet, I grew up talking to and listening to that generation. They would want nothing to do with the Squad or with woke insanity.
And FWIW, I would gladly vote for a Truman or a JFK if there anyone like them remaining in the democrat party. I am only. Trump voter because of how crazy the other side has become. I miss the traditional sane democrats.

So you watched his show? You must have to make such a definitive claim
Problem is not many people watched the show. If you have ratings, you have advertising and money. If you don’t you can only afford that kind of budget so long. The big conspiracy is Trump somehow had Skydance kill the show.

Let me ask you a serious question would you want to buy a company with a failing show like this? I mean it just makes sense to cut the people and products which are losing money and keep the ones which aren’t losers. This crap happens in M&A all the time.

I haven't watched any of them since Letterman left the air. That was ten years ago. Wow.

Lol. No way. Obviously there’s not many that want to watch someone go full tds for an hour and many outlets are starting to scramble to save their bottom line.
