I bailed hay once when I was 12 yrs old. I was paid 12 dollars for ten hours of work. I never did it again. These kids were illegal and most were unaccompanied.

I think it depends on about whom you are talking. The way we have left some of our allies in the lurch (Afghanistan/Kurdistan) you are probably right. But to other world powers, yeah we are credible. We are not the laughing stock that the Trump haters like to think we are.

I can tell you this, we aren't being taken advantage of anymore like we were in the past.

I helped put hay bales in the barn a few times when I was a kid. The bales pretty much kicked my scrawny tail. I got paid with dinner and a place to sleep. I didn't do it again until I was asked again. Later on I hung tobacco for $2 an hour a time or two.
My comment was about being able to work on a weed farm at the age of 15. I knew more than a few who'd jump at the chance.
