Your post does remind me of the mid-air plane crash over the Potomac River in January, when Donald Trump blamed Democrats and DEI initiatives (by his own admission, without any evidence to support it), for the crash.
Did you ever call this nonsense out? Donald Trump is not above playing politics with disasters. He does it all the time. It is wrong and in incredibly poor taste for anyone to do this, and I realize that Democrats are just as guilty of it.
Admittedly not as cool as Stuart Scott, but definitely up there. Thanks for noticing. Your lack of self-awareness is noted.Have you thought about ever posting ANYTHING at all? You say NOTHING as part of any discourse .... but you probably think you're as cool as the other side of the pillow, don't you?
That's great .....I’ve never engaged in that. I have stated we should only allow someone to become a pilot based on their credentials (not their race).
That's great .....
.... but you're missing the point. Donald Trump had no evidence whatsoever that DEI initiatives played any role at all in that crash. An investigation would later reveal that DEI initiatives were in no way involved either with air traffic control personnel or with the pilots.
So, why bring it up, unless you are wanting to unnecessarily play politics with a disaster?
And Trump pulls this crap a lot.
Where does the 65 million number come from? Anyone?Irony, in its purest form.

I don’t think it does any good to blame this on cuts at the NWS. Those that want to believe it did, or it didn’t, will never change their minds.
What I do think worth mentioning is that Trump is proudly activating FEMA and his disaster declaration to help those poor people. A program he has said he wants to eliminate later this year.
It would be great if we could ever have another President who wasn't so combative and didn't politicize everything, and wasn't always in search of the next public spat to get into. This country desperately needs leadership more in the mold of a unifier.I don’t think it does any good to blame this on cuts at the NWS. Who do you consider the most recent unifier to hold the office? It would be great if we could ever have another President who wasn't so combative and didn't politicize everything, and wasn't always in search of the next public spat to get into. I have no idea who that could possibly be from either party.
You would have to go back to Reagan. He may have been completely oblivious to the sale of arms to Iran (and that's if you choose to believe him), but there is no denying that he was a unifying influence.Who do you consider the most recent unifier to hold the office?
I was thinking Geo Bush(daddy bush). You would have to go back to Reagan. He may have been completely oblivious to the sale of arms to Iran (and that's if you choose to believe him), but there is no denying that he was a unifying influence.
Times were different back then. No cable news networks. CNN existed but there wasn't much in the way of politics discussed. You had some shows like Crossfire and the Capitol Gang that nobody watched. They covered sports and entertainment as much as anything else. No internet, where everyone has a pulpit.
Not much talk of red and blue states either. True landslide Presidential Elections were possible. Still, I would argue that Reagan was an effective communicator, who had adversaries like Tip O'Neill in Congress, but he didn't publicly fight with them. When he gave State of the Union Addresses, he did more than just lay out the Republican Party platform. His vision involved a country that worked for everyone who had ambition and a good work ethic. When you think about how small a political price he paid for Iran/Contra, it's incredible. Even his VP won a landslide in '88 .... I have mixed feelings on Reagan as a President, but he was a unifier in ways that nobody has been since.
* GWB had a chance after 9/11 ..... but the 2003 Iraq invasion destroyed any chance of him leaving behind a positive legacy.
You can't expect him to play nice with the way he has been attacked through the media, DOJ, and political opponents. It would be great if we could ever have another President who wasn't so combative and didn't politicize everything, and wasn't always in search of the next public spat to get into. Give me a break. It's in his nature to be antagonistic and mean spirited. Trump promoted birther-ism aggressively in 2011 and his behavior in the aftermath of losing the 2020 Presidential Election was a disgrace, and there is nobody to blame for that but him.You can't expect him to play nice with the way he has been attacked through the media, DOJ, and political opponents.
