Right -- you do a job like this due to economic pressure. Sacrificing health and safety for subsistence. We would do better to push to move those local economies away from coalmining, not towards it.

It's not all that unhealthy and dangerous as long as best practices are followed. Having fair and competent inspectors is important, not pawns of the operators and not ones fabricating violations to hammer the operators with fines. The wages are far from subsistence. It's not 1938 any more.
A lot of those local economies have been pushed away from coal already with the mines having closed. Unfortunately for those pushed away, there are no local replacement jobs with comparable wages and benefits. If we can use coal with no serious environmental harm, and we can, it makes sense to do so.

I didn't say you endorsed Obama or Bush but you weren't on here raging about lies the previous Presidents told and they all lied a lot. That's the point. Selective Rage.

FYI, my favorite Trump lie was when he said the Virus came from the Wuhan Lab. At least the media and Democrats put him in his place for that one.
