President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

Yes, Jeffrey Goldberg over-hyped it, but that's standard operating procedure in politics these days. AG Pam Bondi recently over-hyped a batch of Epstein files. Is the White House up in arms over that? Of course not. That's just how things are done in politics these days, with such crowded news cycles.

There is also no doubt that Jeffrey Goldberg has an anti-Trump agenda, as well. So, it shouldn't be a big surprise that he sensationalized the story just a bit ....

That should not diminish the fact that Pete Hegseth mishandled highly sensitive information, which should have been classified, if it wasn't. It also should be pointed out that Mike Waltz was clearly lying when he previously said that he had never had any contact with Goldberg. The only way this could have happened is if Goldberg's contact information was saved on Waltz's phone.

Both Hegseth and Waltz should either be fired or forced to resign.
Nice attempt to connect Epstein and information being withheld until the last second and a text chain.

I'm not connecting anything .... just making a comparison of sorts.

Your attempts to dismiss this is as a non-story have been pathetic, by the way.

.... but "Pathetic" seems to be your standard operating procedure.

Pathetic would be not disclosing the whistleblower coming forward in the 11th hour on files not turned over. Seems context is missing on your comparison. The text chain doesn’t have anything else to release.

Joe didn’t fire anyone under his watch and you said nothing. At least nothing that comes to mind. Maybe you did but I don’t remember you being so passionate about it. But it’s not Joes administration is it? It’s Trumps. And because your feet are firmly planted in the democrat party plantation, you come back into the PF the last few days like a pit bull on a mission.

I trust that Trump will make the right decision. He is a great President after all.

I was very critical of Joe Biden's mishandling of classified information. That shouldn't be hard to find in my posting history. I was very critical of Biden's leadership, in general. Throughout the politics forum you will find one frequent refrain from me about Joe Biden : Biden represents everything that is wrong with American government. He is the embodiment of a career politician, who has few skills and inspires nobody. Biden is an empty suit.

Now, with that said, back to the Trump rodeo clown show :

^^^^ Multiple outlets ^^^^ are now reporting that the information that Pete Hegseth and Mike Waltz so clumsily provided to Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic was, in fact, highly classified at the time of the Signal group chat.

This episode just reinforces the belief that Donald Trump doesn't appoint competent personnel to important roles in his cabinet. He appoints Fox News buffoons like Pete Hegseth. Nothing has changed from his first term.

Judging by how the conversation stalled out, I am guessing this scandal landed with a thud. I know there are calls for people to lose their positions over this, but is anyone hearing it's a consideration from the administration?

Send Elon in to investigate. He will terminate the incompetent bastards.

The most deluded Trumpistas don't care about this screw-up because it was done by a member of the administration.

The rest of us care but know nothing will happen.

It's not that it landed with a thud. It landed with a shrug.

What are you talking about, when you say, "Judging by how the conversation stalled out, .... ?"

Of course, right-wing media is trying to be dismissive of the story. They are running interference for the White House, and trying to deflect to coverage of Jasmine Crockett's "Hot Wheels" remark about Texas Gov. Greg Abbott .... but this story is just getting started. "The conversation" hasn't stalled out among people who care more about the country than they do about being subservient to Donald Trump.

Sen. Roger Wicker is a Republican, by the way. So, this isn't some Democratic Party driven overreach.

There will be an inspector general report on this breach. So, at the very least, the American people will see for themselves what exactly happened. Fox News can't just bury it now. Although, they are still trying like hell to do so.

I would say the American people basically already know what happened.

Actually, I heard some 'right wing' media saying to take the loss and move on.

the conversation in this thread. It was so prolific I missed most of it when the schiano hit the fan a few days ago. Several pages in one day. And that was just the speculation. Now that the scope is known, it has slowed down a lot.
