Prepare for Steele

Steele wouldnt be my top choice either. But thats were we are. And the fact that we have fans wanting to repeat the actions on Schiano day and then repeated with Doeren is shameful. What an absolute embarrasment to our fanbase.

Yep. No matter who this hire is, fans need to accept and get behind him or just find something else to do on Saturdays for the next 3-5 years. This revolt crap needs to stop. Currie let the fans have their way, but Fulmer needs to stand by his choice and lead. Ignore the tantrums and live with the decision. Still hope it's not Steele though.

Also who has won at Baylor . Art briles doesn't count he can win anywhere because he is one of the best in the nation . Expect Kendall briles to be a head coach soon

So we are going to roit the hiring of a former vol that is currently a coordinator? Interesting
Funny how that works. I thought that was exactly what we needed? A Tennessee man? There is a saying for that "watch out for what you wish for" or something to that effect.

Maybe a good hire. Flumer is going for a defenses minded coach it looks like.We really don't know who will be a great coach out of all the names. We need someone who can evaluate talent and develop talent.

Steele is not what we need or want, we deserve more, not someone Phil can tell what to do. His time came and went as a coach.

All anyone talks about is his HC job at Baylor 15+ years ago. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Baylor was pretty terrible anyways at that point in time. Plus, people can learn and change in 15 years time. Trust Fulmer.

Look how UT football has changed in just 10 years.

New coach in 2021. Sincerely hope I am wrong.

GBO!

Posted in the other Steele thread, but thought I would throw it in here as well.

Am I mistaken or did Steele's defense shut down 2 number 1 ranked teams in a 3 week span? Is Steele my first option, no, however to think he would be a dumpster hire is a pure trash take. The man brought speed to Nebraska in the 90's, had a bad stint at Baylor, had time at Florida St and Alabama, got Clemson's defense turned around and set Venables, then went to LSU, had Auburn's defense looking pretty good this year. Given how poorly UT has played both sides of the ball since Fulmer left, I am firmly on board with Steele.

He's not my top choice, in reality I would love to see them take another run at Brohm, but Steele's recruiting prowess and ability to build a solid defense make him a solid candidate given the current climate at UT. I think this option also allows Tee Martin to come back into the fold as OC HCIW scenario. Tee is not in a position to be a HC, allow him to fully hold the reigns offensively for a couple of years, then reevaluate when the program has stabilized.

Remember folks UT is coming off the worst decade in program history and is at a minimum 2-3 years away from really competing with the likes of UGA/Bama/Auburn. We just went 0-fer in the SEC. UT can certainly do worse. Get your heads out of the clouds. Fulmer knows what he's doing. And don't give me the well he hired Clawson. 1 bad hire in 16 years get out of my face with that junk.

Clawson’s gone 7-6 & 7-5 and bowling the last two years...Wake has a lot of talent coming back and coming in.

Kevin Steele could not recruit in Texas...

GBO!

9-36/1-31 makes those hires look like Nick Saban, prime Phil Jackson, and Urban Meyer.

Kevin Steele would be the darkest day in history by far. Darker than Phil in 08, Kiffin 09, Bruce Pearl BBQ,and Schiano 17.

He's not getting the job, so it doesn't matter.

Steele in 2018 at Tennessee is a different coach/team/situation than Steele 99-02 at Baylor.

I'd bet he's a better coach than his record.

How should i prepare
