You gained Mac and Sclobozlai (sp?). Also, Trent will be going to midfield after Klopp copied the tactic from Pep and the new Stones role.

Yeah the two new transfers will help there, but depth remains a concern. Fabinho's loss will sting more than Henderson's. Henderson provided leadership and that's about it. He was a minimal offensive threat and his pace declined over the years also.

This is a good pick up for Brighton. Only been able to watch Kudus a couple times but he’s fun to watch. Not quite the diamonds in the rough, low price type of player they usually find as he will be a club record 40M, but none the less Brighton will probably flip for at least double in 2-3 years.

I’ve followed the PL long enough that I remember the time before they came up, so it’s not like they were ever-present, but seeing Leicester down in The Championship after that 4-5 year run they had feels SO bizarre.

Get some of these players off the roster... Rapinoe laughing and giggling right now as her teammates are crying... Gtfo
It was her last match on the national team. Probably Alex Morgan as well. Hopefully, the next generation will ‘stick to sports’ and not allow the national team to continue to be a lightning rod for political issues.

Earliest exit ever in the history of the women’s World Cup for the US
Tough way to go out. They were miles better today than in the group stage, but were still just completely lacking any sort of cutting edge in front of goal. The Swedish keeper played well, but a number of her saves were pretty routine. A couple good ones in the mix, but nothing really world class. Also didn’t have to actually save a PK.

US defense was solid all tournament, and never had their goal seriously threatened today. Any sort of regular goal threat and they could have won the whole thing.

I was was having a hard time seeing how many the US was holding back when they attacked. I could clearly see that Sweden usually held three at midfield when they attacked and then after the match the commentators talked about both sides having played to guard against the counter. The US had success clearing it up the right side and letting Williams chase it down but it was clear that she could not maintain possession for long and she seldom had anyone to pass it to who had a clear shooting lane.

London may burn, but I am ready to see Millwall in the PL soon. Would love seeing them facing West Ham in the top flight.

So far, Havertz doing the same thing at Arsenal that he did at Chelsea.. miss chances in front of the net.

To be fair, I think he will turn it around as he will continue to get chances in front where those same chances were a little more limited at Chelsea past few years, but he’s just so fragile so hard to tell. His confidence is like a roller coaster. Up and down.

Haaland and Community Shields just don’t mix haha. He was terrible in his first City game in the Shield last year too.
I remember Nunez looked like a world beater last year in it. And we all know how his season last year went compared to Haalands.

These long extra times that PL are going to will cause chaos this year. Arsenal equalizes in the 10th(!) minute of ET after it was supposed to only be 8 minutes. Whistle then blows at 12 minutes total of ET. Jeez.

I absolutely HATE this particular rule change. One of the best things about the sport is that you could just about set your watch by when the games would end. I could easily make my plans on the knowledge that if Everton kicked off at 10AM, they would be done by 11:55 at the absolute latest. Now, who knows?

Obviously weird rules and such, but good to get the win. Just glancing through the head to head games, looks like this is the first win over City since july 2020 in the FA Cup

and none of the games in the last three years were draws. They were all losses...
