Prejudice (Not Bias) against Tennessee

Nancy Armour of USA Today has never had anything positive to say about UT, so this is typical of her.

Good for Chad Scott for pointing it out. More "call out" articles need to be had when major news outlets write articles on hyperbole for shock, awe, and clicks.

I doubt it, but maybe if we start holding news outlets accountable for what they write, they'll actually put aside agendas for news. I doubt it, though. There is no more middle ground. Media outlets take a radical, one-sided stance on any given issue and mold "news" around that message to emphasize their point.

My dad told me when I was pretty young that the media is a lot of up north, or specifically Big Ten schools, that are good journalism schools, think Northwestern. Implying they had a self interest in promoting the Big Ten when graduates became involved with the media one way or another. I never really thought this to be true, or have any specific examples, but this article certainly points out USA Todays bias.

True, but then they start whining about freedom of the press and freedom of speech, and we've become a nation of such PC pansies that they win the battle ... again. Too bad that the guys who wrote the Constitution and original Amendments couldn't have envisioned the hypocrisy of the modern press.

That's because your dad - like some of the rest of us - was around before the internet when AP and UPI pretty much controlled everything in college football news. It was Notre Dame, the big 10, a big gap, and then everybody else; the bias was incredible. Pravda couldn't have handled it better. Ever wonder why SEC Heismans were almost unheard of until more recent times? Bet your dad hated ND, too; and his second favorite team was whoever was playing ND that particular weekend.

I still hate ND just as bad now as I did back then.... Penn State and Ohio State too.
