My brother, his wife, three small kids(ages 7,5,3) and I, are planning to go to the Kentucky game. I have never had small kids with me tailgating in Knoxville and I was hoping those with families could help me out.

Do you think trying to go to a restaurant would be a bad idea? If you do go, what are some of the restaurants that you take your family to before the game?

I feel dumb asking but when it comes to kids, I don't know what do. ha. This is the kids' first Tennessee game so I'd like to give them a taste of Knoxville. Calhouns would be great, but I'm sure it will be super crowded.

Last resort, we'll hit KFC and eat in the lot. But if it's freezing out, I'd like something indoors so they can warm up before going to Neyland. All help is truly appreciated.:hi:

FWIW, it's Kentucky on the weekend of Thanksgiving in what's expected to be a bad season. My guess is that Knoxville will be a little bit more toned down for that game, weather notwithstanding. I am just a student, and I'm fairly sure I'm not a dad, so I can't help you there. I'd say that restaurants will still be quite crowded, though. If you planned on hitting up one, though, I'd suggest going west to Parkside Grill. The burgers are out of this world (2nd best to Huey's), prices aren't too shabby, and it's a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. Being off Cedar Bluff, it won't be crowded at all (I don't think).

Put them in a kennel?

You know what IP, I don't mind the sarcasm and joking that goes on around on VN, but this trip means alot to me. I haven't seen these kids since they were practically babies.

I don't expect or suspect that you care, but show a little courtesy. If you can't help me, move on. There is no need to be a jerk this thread.

Sorry, Clarence. I didn't realize this was such serious business as for a single little joke to be utterly disruptive. I will steer clear in the future.

Like I said, I don't mind the jokes. Hell I enjoy them, it makes VN fun. Just on this particular subject I want some straight answers, that's all.
