Preferred bowl opponent?

You boys will rally after beating Florida. Vols were set up last year by being sent to Ohio State in freezing conditions. Ohio State should have been sent to Knoxville for a dark mode game. A good bowl matchup can propel the Vols with high energy and momentum heading into 2026 with Bama and Texas playing in Knoxville. Round out the super recruiting class and cherry pick the portal and all whining and playoff envy will stop.
OU got sent to Knoxville for a dark mode game……

Yep, just how ESPN wanted it. The bowl system was always fine. The only people who needed it to change were the people who wanted to concentrate it into a single product they could then purchase and own.
To be fair, the expansion of bowl games has been great for the mid majors. Their players and fans enjoy the hell out of going to a cool place during the holidays. It's a big deal to them and certainly isn't bothering you

Don't both Citrus and Outback usually have a SEC/Big 10 matchup? If that is the case considering Ohio State and Indiana will likely be in the playoffs I think that will leave us with Oregon, Michigan or USC. Any of those would be a great game and teams we do not traditionally play.

With the playoff, bowls are meaningless. Too many opt outs. It is only useful as an opportunity to get some playing time for the younger players.
That being said, let's have "The Real UT Bowl" and play Texas.
