First thread....flame away.

I have read, cussed, re-read, cussed more and LMAO at many on Vol-Nation. Poor ole Freak must have the patience of Job!!! How many coaching changes will it take? Not to right the ship, but for a great many of the posters to understand, that our last 2 coaches have pulled our beloved Vols to the bottom. Whether from.....lack of recruiting, lack of recruiting talented players, lack of understanding fundamental football techniques or just plain bad coaching. While they may have tried their best.....they just were not good enough to be HC in the SEC.

Enter CJP. Unproven, untried and untested, as a HC, he accepted a job that no really good coach wanted. From what I have witnessed so far, he has Fire, Guts, Determination and common sense enough to hire a great staff. Our current staff already had very good jobs, but they chose to follow him here. The recruiting he was able to accomplish last year, in my opinion, was very surprising. The younger players are performing above all expectations. He knows talent and our staff will coach them up. Whether or not the older players decide to "buy in", is on them.

The next 3 games will, more than likely, yield similar results. Expect slow changes in improvement, and be happy when they surprise someone...Auburn??? maybe. CJP will probably be here at least 4 or 5 years. CPF understands to importance of maintaining stability in a program...something we have not had in 10 years. Support the team and coaches, give them a chance....and quit your B!tch?n.

I have read, cussed, re-read, cussed more and LMAO at many on Vol-Nation. It helps to have some Dickel nearby Poor ole Freak must have the patience of Job!!! How many coaching changes will it take? No one knows. Not to right the ship, but for a great many of the posters to understand, that our last 2 coaches have pulled our beloved Vols to the bottom. That's new, never heard that one before. Whether from.....lack of recruiting, lack of recruiting talented players, lack of understanding fundamental football techniques or just plain bad coaching. That covers pretty much all of it, except Russian collusion While they may have tried their best.....they just were not good enough to be HC in the SEC.

Enter CJP. Unproven, untried and untested, as a HC, he accepted a job that no really good coach wanted. Debatable, but can be stipulated for purposes of discussion. From what I have witnessed so far, he has Fire, Guts, Determination and common sense enough to hire a great staff. He does have a mean roundhouse kick. Our current staff already had very good jobs, but they chose to follow him here. Makes one wonder, doesnt it The recruiting he was able to accomplish last year, in my opinion, was very surprising. A promising start The younger players are performing above all expectations. He knows talent and our staff will coach them up. Whether or not the older players decide to "buy in", is on them. If they do not buy in, its on them. Agreed. Play more youngsters.

The next 3 games will, more than likely, yield similar results. Time to learn a new system, yes. Similar disinterest, lack of focus, softness, and sloppy execution of the fundamentals as we have seen so far is not acceptable. Expect slow changes in improvement, Oh, we expect slow, don't worry. and be happy when they surprise someone...Auburn??? maybe. Could be - Gus likes to cough up a hairball at least once, twice a season. CJP will probably be here at least 4 or 5 years. No "probably." He will be. CPF understands the importance of maintaining stability in a program...something we have not had in 10 years. We haven't had a program worth stabilizing in 10 years. Support the team and coaches, give them a chance.. They will have their chance, regardless of this forum .and quit your B!tch?n. If you mean criticism, we respectfully decline and will comment as we feel led. You aren't the forum cop.

Your football roster is still ranked 13 in the nation in terms of talent, just one spot below Florida. You have 33 four stars and 2 five stars. Your team lacked good coaching last weekend and it showed. Unfortunately, not only does your team need to learn fundamentals of football, but it looks like your coaching staff will have some growing pains too as first timers in their respective jobs.

Football roaster??? Maybe that's why our players look so tender out there.

What set me off was the UF play after the fumbled 2d half kickoff....our defense wanted no part of tackling Scarlett, who just cruised into the end zone. They just quit.

Thats never acceptable, and has NOTHING to do with new coaches, time, scheme, talent, or anything else. Its just heart. Or lack of it. CJP should be fixing that NOW. Not "when he installs his system."

I hope you're right that CJP grows into a good head coach. However, other than the faith of the blind followers there is little evidence that will happen.

It really doesnt matter how many on VN KNOW he can and will or how many KNOW he cant and won't all the whining about the whining doesnt really matter.

You mean 13 out of the last 14? And no our team is probably a 6 or 7 win team this season, unless we magically pull it off in Starkville this weekend. On the other hand, we are seeing progress we have not seen before. Will see.

While we may have recruiting stars, the product on the field shows lack of coaching from the previous staff. Our 4 stars do not play like their 4 stars. ( previous coaching)

I agree completely with lack of heart on the part of some players.....however, that will take more time to fix than 2 camps and 4 games....for those who were coached by Butch.

Oh look, a Gator troll decides after the Saturday win that he wants to post on Volnation! We all appreciate your insightful commentary on the UT coaching staff and the team. I really hated moving from FL to KY, but the fact that I am not surrounded by arrogant putzes like this guy make the move so much easier to handle.

Yes, 13 out of 14! As my son and I were driving home from the game, he quickly got a text message from a "friend" who attended UF who he hears from once a year... right after the UF-UT game. For some reason the "friend" didn't call in 2016. The obnoxious behavior of UF fans is only exceeded by their vulgar, profane, lack of class!

Lived in East Tennessee for a long time ( 6 years), Johnson City specifically. Loved the mountains, not as much the Vol fans, but I am back home in Florida now. Seen arrogant fans on both sides. I'd say they are probably even. I still feel the hate from UT fans for UF is probably a tad more than the other way.

As far as UF goes, our team is still not good. Two weeks ago we lost to a team we beat for 31 years. Doubt we have more than 7 wins this season. We just lived through two Saban assistant coaches as head coaches, and know how terrible they can be. Pruitt has not been here long, but his side line antics this weekend costing his team 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct has red flag written all over it. Reminds me of Chump.

"Florida is a bad team only looking better because of lack of performance on the part of TN" Direct quote from a FL fan who sat behind me. Point being, while most of us on VN know we have a bad team this year, I'm not sure that coming to VN and bragging, that you beat us,..really isn't bragging rights as pitiful as we are. But you go along and "work" on the 6 or 7 win season, that's going to be hard for you to do. Oh, by the way, most of aren't in the best of moods, if you can't tell, so maybe consider leaving us alone. GBO!

Fair. We don't have much to brag about at UF yet this season. Will see. Will stop here.

Whether it seems like it or not, that comes across extremely arrogant. It's a humble brag. And quite frankly, we are tired of it.

I have yet to hear opposing fans, even UF fans, harassed and cussed in the manner that my family and friends have at games in Gainesville. There is a reason that polls have consistently rated UF fans as the rudest fans in the SEC. And as a side question, assuming UT EVER beats UF again, will you rush to Volnation to give us your invaluable insights as you were so quick to do on Saturday?
