I don't even know where to start. . .
first off. cal did not play a easy schedule. And a team that plays the vandy's, kentuckys, memphis, air force's etc of the world shouldn't be throwing stones. Cal's schedule was ranked #3 in the country by difficulty by sangarin.
Which proves a flaw in the Sagarin ratings. It only looks at wins and losses. That really doesn't tell you the whole story. For instance there is no way that Cal should have been ahead of UT at the end of Sept. Both teams were 4-1. UT had beaten Cal badly and lost to only UF by 1. Cal had played a 1AA school. Both of the teams Sagarin punished UT for would have beaten Port St and maybe even Minnesota.
UK was a good team this year and went to a bowl. They were as good as any team Cal beat except Oregon St. Memphis and Vandy would beat Stanford, Arizona, Portland St,... Vandy would have been equal to Minnesota based on their comparable games against Michigan.
Next we are not losing 3 starters on our offensive line and they were not 1 or 2 stars. Mack is coming back and he was second team all pac-10. We lose two guys who didn't even start every game. Tepper returns and started 6 games and was at least a 3 star (I believe 4 star). Really we only lost one olineman.
My info comes from Rivals and I'm fairly sure they had Tepper a two star:

We do not lose both starting CBs. The only secondary player we lose is hughes. Once again you show you know nothing.
Again, my source is Rivals. If they have it wrong then maybe its Cal's guy that updates them that knows nothing, maybe?

Jackson averaged 18 yards per punt return (#1 in the country) and broke the pac-10 record for punt returns for a td in a season. He's the best punt returner in the country. You are high if you think you will do better with "whoever we put back there."
You're high if you think he saw anywhere near the speed and athleticism on coverage teams that UT does every week... even when they play Vandy.
The all-mighty SEC didn't help you beat penn state, at best a mid level big-10 team. The big-10 was HORRIBLE this season, much worse than the big-12.
UT put it on the ground against PSU for the difference in the game. In case you didn't watch the game, they were driving for a go ahead score when Foster fumbled and PSU took it back 80+ yards.
They played a horrible game and were by no means physically dominated except at DT late in the game where one of the guys should have been playing DE. UT dominated Cal in every respect until Fulmer called off the dogs mid-3rd qtr.
The Big10 was bad... but no one was as bad as the Big12. Consider how their top 3 teams (top 4 if you count A&M) performed in their Bowls. Neb beaten. Texas taken to the wire by an absolutely pathetic Iowa team (Big 10 btw). OU got beaten by Boise St.
