Predictions from Oregon fans

If we lose I hope it close. A win would be awesome but I realize we are not very good right now and they are the stud Ducks.

I belive most of us know that us losing by 21 {or whatever} could happen, but we don't go into a game with this mentality. We go into every game to win!
We all know Oregon has a great team {AP 7} so we have our work cut out for us.
Just sayin' there could be some surprises. That's why we play the game.
Even if we lose I'm not giving up on this team.
I'm here for the long haul, win or lose.
GO VOLS!:clapping:

Honestly, I have no idea how it's going to go. But I know it'll be that measuring stick I've wanted to see since CDD was introduced. With the beginning of a new season that has many new coaches and new players...way too many unknowns for me to make any kind of prediction. While this could blow up in our faces, it could also work to our advantage.

Hope you Duck fans have a great experience in Knoxville and Neyland, and I wish you safe travels.

We could very well pull out W, but it's very doubtful. I've seen our boys pull off some major upsets over the years, we'll know soon enough if this young squad has the wherewithal to dig deep down and play lights out mistake free football. Stranger things have happened, that's for sure, I just don't know enough about our new guys yet, coaches included.

Oregon's got the flash to put up big numbers quick, and if the ball starts rolling their way, watch out.

Bad timing for us, Oregon's program is at about it's highest level ever, while we're at one of our lowest points ever (give or take).

I hope I'm wrong on this, Oregon 34 - UT 23.

GO BIG ORANGE!!

the chatter on this board saturday night and sunday are going to be fun to watch......

fwiw....our run stopping abilities are quite capable, your best chance to win this game will because of the passing game and us making turnovers.

What's going to be "fun to watch" is, if Tennessee should pull the monumental upset, to go back to this site and see if you show up.....I'd say the odds are much greater that you won't show than they are that the Vols prevail...A bunch of us will be looking for Portland Duck's posts if the "unthinkable" happens.....

I have said before I will be here.........I will be chatting during the game, will be on suicide watch as vols try to understand what the hell is happening to them.

exactly. We've never been beaten before (admittedly, most of the victors at Neyland have won something of merit before).

An Oregon fan asked a few pages back what the SEC's record was against the PAC 10 for the past 10 seasons and no one answered, so here you go...(from 2000-2009):

Alabama - 0-2 (Losses in 2000 & 2001 vs UCLA)
Arkansas - 0-2 (Losses in 2005 & 2006 vs USC)
Auburn - 1-2 (Win in 2006 vs WSU, Losses in 2002 & 2003 vs USC)
Florida - 0-0
Georgia - 2-0 (Wins in 2008 & 2009 vs ASU)
Kentucky - 0-0
LSU - 5-0 (Wins in 2009 vs. UW, 2003 & 2006 vs Arizona, 2005 vs ASU, 2004 vs OSU)
Ole Miss - 0-0 (has never played the Pac 10)
Miss St - 0-2 (Losses in 2002 & 2003 vs Oregon)
South Carolina - 0-0
Tennessee - 1-3 (Win over Cal in 2006. Loss to Cal in 2007. Losses to UCLA in 2008 & 2009)
Vandy - 0-0

Total record is 9-11.

Oddly, total record against Pac 10 teams not in California is 8-2.

Kicking druken policemen in head while on the ground. (Not Kool):hi:

Did the whole story ever come out?

If they didn't know he was a cop and thought he was some drunk guy pulling a gun... I'd beat the crap out of him too.

I stopped following the story after a while. That was part of the rumors I remember going around though. Has anyone confirmed what actually happened?

So that would be 7-0 against Washington and Arizona schools.. Who cares?

But thanks for posting the info!

Yeah. It's merely a stathead stat and proves absolutely nothing. In a lot of those cases (on both sides), they were huge mismatches. Oregon beat Mississippi State during a stretch when the only SEC team they could beat was Vandy, who couldn't beat any SEC teams. LSU beat Washington the first game after the winless season and beat a 2-10 Arizona team during the Saban National Championship season.

FWIW Oregon returning 17 STARTERS, 9 on Offense, 8 on Defense. Really embarrassing for a duck fan when another has his head where the sun does not shine. However do believe Oregon is stacked at every position. I also believe it will be a very close game. My opinion is it will come down to who does not turn the ball over. If it were not going to rain, that would be less of a concern. I personally am concerned about Wilcox due to his track record with the ducks, and Sirmon, his GA that was at UO last year, and his knowledge of Oregon's system, etc. That said, my prediction is that Oregon will win by 10 to 12 points, and will be a low scoring game. I truely believe that Oregons D is superior to UT's Offense, but we will see in about 12 hours. I'll be their, the first time I will be able to see my ducks in person for 12 years. Go ducks!!

Thanks for your service to VN during these tough times. Also, thanks in advance for your long stay and dedication.
