Yeah? Lose to FL again next year and you can put all your pre season rankings and hype in a pipe and smoke it.

NONE of this garbage is worth the bandwidth its using if we don't beat FL and actually live up to all the hype and expectations

This is why I don't get the break pumping crew. It would be one thing if we were players and getting ahead of ourselves and overlooking opponents. But we're fans. Our excitement level does not affect how good a season we'll have in 2016.

Really? To no one inside the program I can tell you that.

I just think it's silly for us to pound our chests as fans about an accomplishment that's 11 months away, and one that we haven't sniffed in nearly a decade.

We haven't beaten FL in over a decade.

So let's accomplish that first, before we declare ourselves this or that.

You can figure out who that's directed at

I can appreciate the sentiment of frustration and have my own. This year's loss was one of the hardest I've had since being a grown ass man but we're going to take care of business in every game we play. From an objective standpoint Fla is not the center of our world.

I don't disagree. But if we're going to be the program we all want, we should be able to make it out of September more than 5 times out of the last 25 controlling our own fate in the East.

I'm absolutely sick of hearing how good we are or how good were gonna be, only to see it flame out before Oct 1.

It just doesn't matter. Pre season rankings and hype don't get you to championships.

Results do.

Now buTch is making a major chance with a new D coordinator and you can bet that our good D will probably become a great D by next season and a great D wins Championships.

Step 1 is to WIN every game before the floriDUHHH game and when we play those Gators you can bet that buTch will be ready and his foot will never come off the gas.

I hate losing any game as much or more than most people but I can SEE what buTch is doing so I'm actually calm and confident about next season because if we don't have any major injuries every team we play next season is going to run into a Big Orange train coming at them full steam ahead.

Relax and enjoy what IS coming because we're all going to love it!

None of that means anything in regards to FL, or any other game for that matter, next year.

That said, yes we should be proud of 2015 & team 119. Can we acknowledge the progress? Sure.

I'm very happy with the program. Very happy with the progress. I think CBJ & co are doing the right things.

I'm just done with hype and rankings until we've gotten some results, chief among those.... Be undefeated in Oct 1.

If everyone assumes we are going to "autowin" it all before the dust even settles, and before we know who is staying and who is going, and before we even know who our coach is; we are almost assured to go 7-5 next year. What you want is to set yourself up and then sneak attack the season. Once you EARN it you can start boasting. This is unfounded and detrimental to our team and season. EARN IT FIRST. Keep your mouth shut and head down and prove it first.

1st off, I want to the 2 most storied programs in the sec to finally meet in the sec championship (vols & bama). Second, let's say we lose 1 game to bama next year, then defeat an undefeated #1 ranked tide in the sec championship. Does that set the stage for the vols and tide to make playoffs? If so, it would be a dream season to play them 3 times and beat them in both championship games. GBO!!!!

How accurate is "prediction machine"? Last time I checked a couple years ago, they were among the worst at preseason predictions

Win against Florida next year and you can do the same.

All of the hype surrounding UT is great in my mind. Screw Florida. They are just as likely to get trucked in Neyland next year as they are to keep it close. The goal (expectations) is to win them all every year. We actually can for the first time since 2001. I'm gonna ride the positive wave. Although I do understand your concerns, I don't share them. I think this hype is a good thing.

Not only is the preseason ranking unimportant to me, I would rather not have it. If the players pay attention to it like so many of you do, I would rather they be insulted and motivated by being overlooked. It is just hype, and means nothing.

Be positive, fine, we should be. Things are looking up.

But in relation to being a top 5 team or "book it" for ATL, I say I've got 11 years of history that says we should relax until 9-25, then start talking about what the rest of the season can turn into.

Agree. And if you read between the lines in some of the stuff that s already come out they're already setting us up...."is this the 'next year' TN fans have been talking about?"

"We've heard this befor, but is 'next year ' really the year?"

"Get ready this off season because Tennessee fans will be telling you about 'next year'...

And frankly I'm sick of it.

Beat FL. Simple. And no one will ignore us the rest of the season. Every game we play after that becomes instantly more relevant.

And there won't be any talk about how we didn't live up to the hype.... Again.

Dream on. There is absolutely no way the committee will EVER, under the four team format, allow two teams from the same conference into the playoff. If, for example, you get an SEC team in, a PAC 12 team in, an ACC team in, and the B10 and B12 meltdown, they will take a AAC team before they would let your scenario happen.

When LSU and Alabama met for a national title, that was why the wheels turned toward the playoff. And no matter if Tennessee and Alabama are both in the top four in the polls, the committee will still not pay attention to that.

Nice dream? Maybe. Possible? Not a prayer.

Edit: And a dream season never ever includes losing to Alabama. 1998 was a dream season. Fortunately, I was one of many who was there to live it. And losing to those hacks from Tuscaloosa would have been a nightmare.
