I don't put much stock in computer generated predictions, but this is an interesting read. I heard Paul Bessire talking about his website on the radio this AM, so I thought I'd check it out.

College Football Preview 2010: Free Analysis on Every Team from Paul Bessire @ PredictionMachine.com

How it works:
Just as the Predictalator plays any individual game 50,000 before it's actually played, it can also play entire seasons 50,000 times before they're actually played. That is what we have done for the 2010 college football (FBS) season. The actual regular season and bowl schedules have been played 50,000 times, allowing us to compute likely records, expected bowl matchups and power rankings.

The Vols:
It predicts that we are the 9th best team in the SEC, but will finish behind MSU in the bowl pecking order. I'm guessing because of SOS.

Tennessee Volunteers
Power Rank: 45
Offensive Rank: 104
Defensive Rank: 30
Projected Regular Season Record: 5.5 - 6.5
Projected Bowl: Birmingham
Biggest Strength: Defensive Talent
Greatest Weakness: Offensive Line
Best Offensive Player: Gerald Jones, WR
Best Defensive Player: Chris Walker, DE
Breakout Candidate: Tauren Poole, RB

Bowl Predictions: Jan. 8 Birmingham #45 Tennessee 19 - #51 Rutgers 17

I like all of these math genuises. One thing missing in the computation is whether it rained when the BO plays Oregon and the game becomes a comedy of turnovers. Anybody alive when the Bears and Packers played a Monday night game with gale force winds and rain?

5 wins is in the realm of possibility.....then again so is 7 or 8.....I think we end up right at 6

Did the east add three teams?

look again man.. you must of read it wrong its says nothing about the sec east only says that we were projected 9th in the SEC then it mentions MSU which should of tipped you off that it was talking about the entire conference

Six regular season wins and a bowl victory to get to 7-6 sounds similar to Saban's first season at Bammer. I'll take it.

comparing dooley to saban lol wow thats like comparing peyton to his back up lol #bringbackkiffin #firemikehamilton

Are you 13?

First of all, he didn't compare Dooley to Saban. He said that if we go 7-6 that would be the same season Saban had his first year as a coach of a rebuilding program.

Secondly, why are you using hash tags?
