Jalen Hurd will be a key force in Tennessee's push for SEC prominence. Butch Jones has Tennessee moving in the right direction. The Volunteers are coming off a nine-win season capped by a 45-6 Outback Bowl rout of Northwestern, and they have a highly talented, deep roster returning.
The Vols return 18 starters, and it might be hard to pick out one player who’ll stand out among an accomplished group.

It’s hard to go wrong with junior tailback Jalen Hurd, however. Hurd leads a very good backfield as a powerful, speedy runner. He rushed for 1,288 yards and 12 touchdowns as a sophomore and finished the season with three consecutive games with at least 120 rushing yards.

At 6’4”, 240 pounds, he is an imposing force in the backfield. If the Vols win the SEC East and break through as a national power, they’ll do so with Hurd leading the way and churning out yardage and scores.

I could see putting Dobbs here but I have to agree that it should be Jalen. He is our workhorse in Butch's power spread and we need him to grind out those tough SEC yards when games are close in the 4th

Damn we have weapons EVERYWHERE Nation. Just take a long hard look at our roster and try not to run through a brick wall.

We will be an Atlanta, and we may very well end up in Tampa too Nation

GO VOLS:rock::rock::rock::rock:

You have Kamara as a backup to Hurd, though very different. In fact, you need both of them.

Dobbs is dynamic as a runner, though we have to question his passing.

Dormady is most certainly a better passer, and a decent runner.

Dormady could be a spark...

I think Hurd is the MVP

If Dobbs reaches his potential as a passer, he's the MVP.

If he doesn't, Hurd is the offensive MVP, while either Barnett or JRM is the defensive MVP.

Hurd always seems to get passed over for honors. It's his time. He wants to break UT's all-time rushing record and I can see that driving him to have an MVP season.
