I say 9-3 and maybe 10-2 if they beat California.

I had you all picked to win the SEC last year and you all disappointed me....better not happen again.

I would have said that about UT losing 6 games last yr as well!

True, but I think that's more wishful thinking on your behalf than reality. :shades:

well as long as we are making wild predictions

12-0
foster breaks the school rushing record
hardesty steps up to complement foster over coker
the o-line jells
the d-line is going to be almost as good as last year with less personal fouls
that secondary will be unstoppable
wide recivers get the head out of there butt and catch balls thanks to trooper
cutliffe brings back the pass to the tight end and ainge gets his head on straight
we lose the national championship to oklahoma 21-24 on a pass intefernce on d-mo that puts them in field goal range to kick the winning field goal..
adrian peterson wins the heisman and proves to be too much for us...

I honestly have no idea what to expect and don't have anything to base a prediction off of.

I thought I had a wild guess...

Who Knows I say 8-4 or 7-5. This past season I said 8-3 or 7-4 and everybody wanted to ban me for life so lets just see.

I am hoping that we can limit our losses to (1) LSU and (2) either UF or UGA but not both. LSU will probably be the best eam we play this year even though we get them in Knox. To get the 10 wins I want we will have to beat either a UF team that will probably be the toughest team in the east or a slightly down UGA at home. IMO we have a better chance at UGA but we'll have to wait and see. Anything better than 10-2 and I'll be elated.

Yeah, I think the question really is who do we lose to. Here is the pool to pick from: LSU, Florida, Georgia, California, Alabama, and South Carolina. Looking at the polls, you would think the most difficult games would be LSU, Florida, and California in that order.

I think Volhill.....has it down.

LSU is loaded & I feel Coach LM grew up decades last season. Uf will be just as loaded. UM certainly grew up as well, but I feel Tebow (? splg) will become their freshman qb & that may help us. UGA is certainly down talentwise & very beatable. I feel they too will probably have a true freshman qb. Of course, it appears not to matter, Richt seems to generally "outcoach" Fulmer regardless. It appears no one here is concerned about SOS IN Columbia? Duh....

Of course the likes of Air Force (at Neyland) Memphis (thank goodness we didn't have to play them fully loaded this PAST season) Vanderbilt (will be experiementing qb position after losing THE BEST QB in the SEC) Alabama not fully recovered from probation (& w/o Protro & Crowley) Ark (w completely new o staff, new qb) Marshall (naturally @ Neyland) and of course KY (w Sanders @ Neyland) are what they are...

Cal is a big question mark, and of course it too will be played @ Neyland.

Nuts of it all...a very weak schedule and how will we do against the SEC Big Boys. Almost a disgrace to think we don't have THAT respect isn't it? If SOS beats us again, it will be doubly so. Or would that be 4, 5, 6 times worse?

Behind Auburn, LSU, uf, UGA, possibly AL and SC would be VERY difficult to swallow.

For those thinking, if that indeed proves to be true. And looking at UT selecting Coach Cut as a replacement, ponder this:

Coach O (& I do not like him) at ole Miss for sure just out recruited UT. His squad this past season was more impressive & played w more heart than any team Cut ever presented. And bear in mind with a heck of a lot less talent than Cut had.

C'mon can't we think outside the Orange Box?

Heres another thing to throw out there RealVol, playing at Neyland Stadium is not a gimme win anymore. The real key for their season will be that opener against Cal. We win that one and it is a real momenum builder for the upcoming conference games. We lose that one and Knoxville will be in flames and the coaching staff leaves the country. :tease2: :naughty:

bleed...orange

Good point! Just ask Vanderbilt!

By the way hats off to Cutler that is looking good in his efforts. I've loved him ever since he looked like he wanted to slug the refs in the uf game that stole a Vanderbilt victory from them in the dump (swamp to uf fans).

Win - Sept. 2 CAL
Win - Sept. 9 AIR FORCE
??? - Sept. 16 FLORIDA
Win - Sept. 23 MARSHALL
Win - Sept. 30 Memphis
??? - Oct. 7 UGA
Win - Oct. 21 BAMA
Win - Oct. 28 South Carolina
??? - Nov. 4 LSU
Win - Nov. 11 Arkansas
Win - Nov. 18 Vanderbilt
Win - Nov. 25 KENTUCKY

Question Marks:
UF - Has been a really close one for a couple years straight. Also lost this one with turnovers and penalties. If we play contoled game, we'll win.
UGA - Same explanation as UF.
LSU - Same explanatoin as UF.

Probable Wins:
CAL - Think we'll beat CAL by a couple TD's. Reading up on them their defense is weak link. They'll come to town and feel the power of Neyland Stadium.
Bama - Lost with a bad offense only by a heart breaking fumble. Next year we will get revenge in a big way.

Wins:
Air Force - Good guys serving our country but not top notch players.
Marshall - Just not enough good players.
Memphis - Won't be playing Bball.
South Carolina - Don't think they'll get it done two years in a row. See this one possibly with many TD's for the Vols. Get back at the Evil One.
Arkansas - No need for explanation.
Vanderbilt - Got in their 20yr win and well deserved. Don't see this happening twice.
Kentucy - Won't be playing in Rump Arena.

I see our question marks next year, no surprise, as UF, UGA and LSU. If we mess all three up then we'll be 9-3. Don't see that happening. Think we'll either 10-2 or better. Of course, I am the eternal optimist.

Guys when it comes right down to it none of us dont really know sh@# about that football team. Its easy for me to say they will go 7-5, and another poster to say they will go 10-2. Bottom line is none of us know whats going to happen. They could go 12-0 and they could go 6-6 or anything between. If the discipline, execution, and the motivation to win as a team is there we should be alright, but thats not been there in quite a few years, so lets all just argue and bicker back and forth until September and we will see the outcome. :aggressive: :aggressive: :aggressive: :aggressive:

Been saying that all along myself. But I guess we still see the need to discuss to make ourselves feel better. Sometimes I get sucked into discussions. Some are worth replying to and some aren't. In the end I do think we will do better to much better.

If the past is any indication of the future. Ga. Fla. and Fla. tranfer to S.C. are the ones to look out for. My hope is that we can beat Fla. and S.C. Won't bet the farm on Ga. Richt is just too tough, turning into another S.S.
