Prayers scent to Rachel Maddow and also the WaPo reporter that wrote this brutal column.

The premise of "The Washington Post" columnist's (Erik Wemple) criticism is misguided. Just like Sean Hannity of Fox News, Rachel Maddow does not identify herself as a "legitimate journalist". Rachel Maddow is a liberal political commentator, and that is how she describes herself on her show. She makes no pretense of being objective or impartial. She is not a reporter. She is an opinion-based talk show host on a left-wing cable news network. Just as Sean Hannity is often wrong when he promotes various unproven conspiracy theories (such as the theory that Seth Rich was murdered by the DNC), Maddow is often wrong herself... but this criticism is absurd. She does not claim to be a journalist and anyone who has ever seen her show knows this. Her show is based mostly on opinions. You can choose to agree with her, or not. You can even choose not to watch her show at all.

Yet, she was selected to be a moderator at one of the Fem debates a few months ago.

LOL at no bias.

That was a Democratic Party debate, though, and none of the candidates objected to her being there. Rachel Maddow is a very liberal Democrat. As long as she hasn't endorsed one of the candidates (she hasn't) there would be no reason to suspect she couldn't moderate a Democratic Party debate in an objective manner. Once again, the Democratic National Committee has to approve of all moderators and any of the candidates can opt to have a moderator dismissed. None of them did.

You are correct and I agree with you.

She’s just a moron with a very large following who slurps up her stupidity as objective truth.

That is a little harsh. She earned a Bachelor's Degree from Stanford in 3 years. She was also a Rhodes Scholar who studied at Oxford.

The DC police believe that it was a botched robbery. That is also what his parents believe. There has never been any evidence in support of Sean Hannity's theory that Seth Rich hacked the DNC and leaked their contents to WikiLeaks and was murdered in retaliation for it. As a matter of fact, there is plenty of evidence that it was Russian operatives who were responsible for the DNC hack.

Wasn’t enough education to keep her from believing an obvious hoax and perpetuating it for years. Her credibility is shot (with thinking people).

She has opinions and she supports them... and her credibility isn't shot among people who are of a mind to watch her show. She has far and away the highest rated show on either MSNBC or CNN. Roger Ailes tried to hire her as a contributor to Fox News back in 2007, because he didn't want her to have her own show on MSNBC. That is a fact.

I caveated the statement in bold in my original reply.

Having the highest rated show on MSNBC is like being the smartest kid in the remedial class.

Another in a long list of dead bodies close to the Clinton's. Just another coincidence.

Not really. She is 5th overall on cable news. She averages 2.327 million viewers and your comment would only hold if the smartest kid in the remedial class made $7 million per year like she does. Fox News doesn't have competition for conservative viewers, while CNN and MSNBC split the liberal viewers. That makes a big difference.

Bragging rights for highest rated show on MSNBC is a joke.

I can understand that. The gay men want to watch Don Lemon or Anderson Cooper, and the lesbians want to watch Rachel Maddow. Makes sense.

MSNBC is 2nd, but once again, they have competition and Fox News does not. And being the highest rated show on MSNBC isn't a joke when it comes time to negotiate a contract. She does make $7 million per year.
