Prayers Requested

No one in their right mind would take that as preaching.. he asked for prayers from people who believe the same as him, so you don't then don't comment.. unless of course you want to be a jerk and are needy of attention.. you are the one preaching about your belief of science before prayer you idiot.... now preaching would be something like " seek ye first the kingdom of god..." needy for attention is all you are. Sad.

When he says "make sure you have accepted Jesus as your Christ and savior" it turns into preaching. I am a Christian but that is preaching. But that being said my thoughts and prayers go out to his father and hope all turns out for them.

Don't mistake this for a lack of compassion. Imagine for a moment that someone created a thread with a title like "Votes needed" or "Support needed". And inside you had a post describing a family member who had a serious disease but no health insurance, and you finished it with "I hope all of you will support universal health care in the upcoming election".

It's not the way. And it's certainly not the place. I don't think anyone would have a problem with a simple "I would appreciate your support", but when you start telling people that you hope they come around to your religious viewpoint that's when you cross a line, that imo shouldn't be crossed.

I simply imagined a fellow Vol fan hurting and needing support.

Kind of a backwards world we live in when a person is using a personal tragedy to preach their religious views and the people who speak up about it are made out to be the bad guys.

If telling others of Jesus Christ is backwards then maybe you should listen to his post and seek to accept him as your savior. If the thread title very clearly expressing that he was asking for prayers was misleading then next time do not open the thread. The ones speaking up aren't "bad guys" but they are seeking attention so I will oblige.

I pray for the hand of God to be with your father.

So he can't preach on a message board when ASKING FOR PRAYERS??? Ya'll need to get off you sensitive nanny soapboxes & realize this isn't school & God fearing people have EVERY right to post thoughts and wishes on here without being subjected to absolute *******s making a fuss. Yes, I called you *******s and you can report me....*******s.

Good luck to your father. I have sincerely prayed he will fully recover.

Not to be a jerk,,,but why are you preaching on Volnation? I wish your father and your family the best of health - but preaching and praying just don't beat out medical science. Hopefully you take your father to a doctor that is schooled in medicine and not theology. Wish and pray in one hand,,,,,oh well,,,,,see where this went.

What he and his family choose to believe in is none of your concern, imo.

OP - Already done and hope your father recovers quickly

I'm still trying to figure out why he thought there wasn't a doctor involved.

Simple. He said his father received some troubling medical news. Then went on asking for prayers. No where did he mention his father seeking further medical advice. As I said before, I wish his father well and that he seek proper medical attention. There is a time for praying and preaching, and a time when real medical attention is needed. That's all I said, and all I shall say. GBO.

You'd have to be a complete dolt to reach the conclusion that while he'd sought medical advice, whereby he received troubling news, he'd decided to not seek further medical advice, and put it all in Jesus' hands, from the OP. He didn't mention spear fishing either. You inappropriately took it upon yourself to make a statement & then tried to cover your butt with this drivel. What you said was......

"Not to be a jerk,,,but why are you preaching on Volnation?"

The rest of your awful post was just CYA. I would suggest a sincere apology from you.
