Prayers for orangeredblooded

I wished tomorrow, but am dealing with VA. Took over a year to get this point. Through VA, they have a somewhat new program, if it’s over a certain amount of mileage, they will find me a civilian surgeon.
They will also “fee you out” (pay for community care) if they can’t provide care within the clinically indicated timeframe, even if you live across the street.

Another option is to get treated at a different VA that specializes in the care you need. So Nashville does autologous stem cell transplants, San Francisco is an epilepsy Center of Excellence, Richmond does heart transplants, etc. San Francisco has a really good neurosurgery and spinal surgery program, although that’s kind of a schlep from Eastern Virginia, lol. But as risky as your situation is, you should get fast-tracked. Do a Congressional if you have to.

Yeah if you can get your congressman to help you then he/she would be good for something (you can probably tell I’m not high on government officials but if they could help you with your medical issues that would make them feel important and help you out)!

When I transferred to my next-to-last VA station, I reported to the executive assistant to the med center Director. Whenever I stuck my head in to say hi, he was surrounded by foot-high stacks of blue folders containing Congressionals. I can assure you that they are taken seriously, at least at the good VA’s (of which there are many.)

You are right, my doctor said it will be either Johnson City (not thrilled about that) or Vanderbilt, which I’m hoping for. I am a fighter, and will do what is necessary. I’m sure you understand, I have already fortified myself for next step, truthfully, I’m exhausted, mentally and physically, and just want to hit it head on. That’s how I’ve always been. Thank you, VolNExile, just helps to talk or joke about it sometimes.

I was gonna make a "Peas and carrots" comment, but couldn't decide if appropriate or not.

Now at age 34....

Just imagine being a 17 year in high school and the only Jenny in school when that song came out.
I can understand that.

When looking for that picture of Jenny (Hanna Hall) I found something else interesting, to me anyway. Bear Bryant in the movie "hes the stupidest sum bish I ever saw, but he sure can run" was Enos from Dukes of Hazard.

You can sleep now that you know that.
