Prayers for orangeredblooded

Anyone that is a government hater is gonna shake their head on this one. Called VA today to find out about status of surgery. They are now going to open up a investigation into why it’s taking so long.
I sure hope they get their heads out of their butts and get you fixed.

If it’s a necessity especially for work hire an attorney. Check in to a Knoxville hospital and get the surgery. Keep all the records and waiting times from the VA. Hope you get good news soon! But shatty healthcare can’t hold you back. No pun intended

I keep all records, not an option for surgery at a alt place as I have chosen for VA. My employer doesn’t offer insurance and I chose this profession and company years ago, because the elder won my heart years ago. Had other opportunities over the years, but couldn’t leave them. Maybe not the wisest choice now in rear window, but what I have to work with now. I see it as a speed bump today.

Pull a congressional (contact your Congresscritter)

Sounds like the management of the Knoxville CBOC hasn’t changed much since my days there.

I’m sorry to hear this. The whole non-VA “fee” “care in the community” bit was set up as a boondoggle for contributors to congressional campaigns, and was pretty much screwed from the get-go, but you need to be a squeaky wheel here, especially as the possible consequences of delay (spinal cord injury) are so devastating. In other words, you’re more than a vet with a gimpy knee who needs a shiny new prosthesis. Keep bitching!

I’m a pro at the bitching, could earn money if it were a true profession. Contacted our congressman, they called the local VA this morning and Nashville. They were told the same exact thing I was told by them two weeks ago, but they do promise I will hear something within two weeks.
