Prayers for Florida

I think there were fourteen lost lives in the Gatlinburg fires, which is unfortunate but not catastrophic! The storm in Florida will end up taking hundreds of lives and be a catastrophe, in the end!!! There really is no comparison. I've never understood why some people will try to ride the storm out, instead of evacuating!?!

You know what catastrophic is, TennMan? It's when that unfortunate loss is someone you loved.

It's not the numbers, it's the connections.

Everyone be safe!

I have these special temp detectors called nipples.

This water cold.

I'm at the beach (Miramar Beach - Destin area) today...and, hate to say it, but DD's nipples might be right! :) The water does feel colder today than it did before that cold front passed through!

This is the guy you need to worry about. Be safe and think first brother. You will be with out power and flooded and without water for a while, Maybe a week. I don't know if you have been through one of these things but it will be the scariest experience of your life. The power you are about to experience is something surreal. You can do it though because it will blow through quick and will drain quick. Be safe bro! Use your brains is all. Don't be stupid. My last post... this is Pensacola today...

Thanks man and yes I have been through several of them including Andrew so I know what to expect...Wild and crazy that's for sure...We're ready to go here.:good!:

Whew...

Glad to hear the VN Florida residents made it through okay.

We had family and friends from Tampa and Lakeland stay with us, thinking the storm would head that way, then the b!t€h Irma turned east and headed straight for us...then flooded Jacksonville.

I've never seen a storm touch the entire state like that. F Irma.

Still haven't heard from Behr, down in Fort Myers. Waiting for him to get electricity and check in.

The Good Lord watched over us here in the Big Bend of Florida AGAIN. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this hurricane. The road to the Florida Keys is 25% complete loss, 65% major damage and 10% minor damage. The water line from Miami to the Keys is damage. 10,000 people chose to stay and are really going to have it rough for a while.

I'm still without power since 430 AM Monday

Really? In Tallahassee? I did not even realize there were issues that far west.

The power thing even in Orlando remains a problem. I'd say about half to 2/3 still out. Traffic intersections have to be approached with great caution.

My house is damage free, but going on day 3 without power here in Ft. Myers. A few stores are open. Nobody has ice, and long lines at the gas stations.

Here in Lake Mary we have power people just a block away do not.. trees down family safe home unscathed. Need to check roof though . Good friend just bought a 350k house in Clermont and leaks everywhere..
