I hope this is ok. Im in the er now with un godly blood pressure. Im quiting drinking to follow God. Ì also am having panic attacks making it worse. Please pray my name is Brian.
You are very brave to put this out there. Know these 3 things:

1) You are not alone and that no matter how everybody else looks to you, we ALL have things to work on.

2) There is something bigger than all of us and letting go the way you just have is a very mature step to take in ways you don’t even understand yet.

3) As low and broken as you feel, believe it or not, you are good enough RIGHT NOW for the love of God.

Please keep us updated man.

Hey Brian. Prayers sent out to you. Quitting is one of the hardest things you'll have to do. Good luck!

Blood pressure still scary high. Im not going to give in though. Please pray for me to feel the Lords presence.
We'll continue to pray. If you have a Bible, or even on your phone, read philippians chapter 4. It has given me both strength, and peace many times.

Continuing to pray for God to give you strength and provide the relief to get you through this first step.

Alcohol is a potent poison and withdrawal often causes severe anxiety or panic. Here is a book that I recommend often to patients and friends/family dealing with anxiety disorders. It's very easy to read and often very helpful. Understanding the physiology is a great way to reduce symptoms:

Once you are through this, and you will get through it, I can't emphasize enough how important it is to find a support group. Many churches offer recovery meetings, and AA is a tried and true alternative. Don't forget this low you are in and commit to never getting there again... whatever it takes.
