How to survive Wisconsin:

1. Drink Leinenkugel beer
2. Eat brats for any occassion
3. Consider cheese a vegetable
4. Learn to bowl
5. Order every piece of cold weather gear Cabela's carries.

The best part is the backyard lottery. Each Spring when the snow melts you get to find stuff you thought you lost but really just left in the yard in September.

I feel your pain.

At least you're moving up at a good time of year....enjoy the mild spring and summer, then get the snow shovel ready!!!

Wisconsin is a pretty state and the people are pretty laid back. Other than the winters, it's not a bad place to be at all.

Be sure to hit Milwaukee's SummerFest. It's a great set-up on Lake Michigan. Good food and great bands for 2 weeks. It's followed by a bunch of different "Fests" (German, Italian, etc.) all in the same place - kind of like dedicated fair grounds but very nice.

Not sure where you are going to be but there's a great outdoor concert facility (Alpine Valley) sort of between Milwaukee and Madison. Great sight lines and sound. It's the place where Stevie Ray Vaughan's helicopter crashed.

I was in Wisconsin in August for some golf and mischief, and I enjoyed what little I saw of the state (Kohler and Milwaukee.)

I don't really know how it will look under 7 feet of snow, though.
