Chance Hall and Jalen Reeves-Maybin at practice today.

LaTroy Lewis and Micah Abernathy among those in green today.

Hall appeared to move ok in early technique work. How much work he actually did on the practice field remains an unknown. We will see where the coaches think he is later this week.
The Vols did some limited one-on-one work with the offensive and defensive lines that we saw and the first five on the OL appeared to be the same that we saw last week, left to right; Brett Kendrick, Jashon Robertson, Dylan Weisman, Jack Jones and Coleman Thomas. That was a brief look in a more or less walk through drill, but for now those seem to be the five.
Thomas continues to have both ankles heavily wrapped.
On the injury watch: Osborne, Abernathy, Latroy Lewis, Jalen Reeves Maybin, Jalen Hurd, Jauan Jennings were all in green jersey's but all were dressed for practice.
LewisJosh Smith and Justin Martin both practiced and both had pretty heavy tape jobs on their ankles.
Butch Jones was preaching ball security early and got after a couple of players who he didn't feel like tucked the ball away well enough in some special teams work. Obviously, improving ball security is a focus. The Vols have fumbled 11 times in three games.

BriceAs for those players in green, Jalen Hurd, Jauan Jennings, LaTroy Lewis, Marquill Osborne. Jalen Reeves-Maybin, Austin Smith and Micah Abernathy all wore non-contact green tops.
Hall did some serious hitting with the rest of the offensive linemen on the blocking sled and appeared to move well; his conditioning will be key moving forward this week.
Reeves-Maybin moved well but was limited, understandably, in practice and shielded from contact.
We did see Brett Kendrick have a nice pass-set against Derek Barnett on the way out of practice, after Kendal Vickers had enjoyed a strong rep.
RuckerSophomore offensive tackle Chance Hall was on the field and going through drills with the rest of the Vols big men. Lets be careful not to put too much into anything we see in such a limited viewing, but Hall looked OK at the first part of practice.
Senior linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin was on the field in a green, limited-contact jersey, but he didnt seem to be doing any hitting. But he stretched and ran around and looked OK, and weve all seen him wear a shoulder brace in the past.
Senior defensive end LaTroy Lewis also was back on the field and trying to run around, but his high ankle sprain was heavily taped and he clearly wasnt at full-speed. He went through all the drills, though, and he was clearly fired up to be on the field.
Junior wide receiver Josh Smith also was on the field wearing his regular practice jersey, as was junior cornerback Justin Martin. There were some new players including sophomore safety Micah Abernathy and freshman cornerback Marquill Osborne in green jerseys.
CallahanThat was enough to see that sophomore offensive tackle Chance Hall looks OK physically after missing the Vols first three games coming off his knee surgery last month. He practiced in a normal, orange jersey rather than a green, non-contact jersey and appeared to be moving well during individual blocking-sled drills.
Junior cornerback Justin Martin, as expected, was back on the practice field after missing Saturdays game against Ohio with an injury. So was senior nickelback Malik Foreman, who served a suspension during the Ohio game for a violation of team rules.
Several of Tennessees players wore green, non-contact jerseys. Freshman cornerback Marquill Osborne, fifth-year senior defensive end LaTroy Lewis, senior linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin, sophomore defensive end Austin Smith, sophomore safety Micah Abernathy, sophomore wide receiver Jauan Jennings and junior running back Jalen Hurd all practiced in green during the early portion of practice that was open to media.
Otherwise, the Vols didnt show much during the few minutes reporters were allowed to watch. Evan Berry, Micah Abernathy, Carlin Fils-aime and Malik Foreman worked on kick returns, while the quarterbacks worked on snaps under center and receivers who werent involved in special-teams drills caught passes off the JUGS machine.
