Interesting that there is still little mention of Evan berry anywhere.....way too talented to only return kicks

He is a Heisman candidate at RB for a SEC Title contending team. The coaches have been letting him take it easy as camp is winding down. Nothing to see here. Just making sure our workhorse is fresh and ready for the season.

Exactly. Look at what happened when Miles and the LSU coaches didn't employ similar tactics with Fournette....got his ankle rolled up on abd could've been worse. No, Butch has this one 100% right....hands off Jalen abd any other key player who has nothing to prove in practice.

as weird as it is to say Weisman is our only returning All-SEC offensive lineman and he played LG last year (i think)

not saying its a bad thing if someone has taken that spot, I just found it curious. Robertson is a curious case imo. Played great as a true freshman but then couldn't stay on the field last year due to injury. I would want to see some gameday consistency from him before handing the LG spot over to him.

You have it backwards. Maybe the confusion stems from when Wiesman filled in for Robertson when he was dinged. That's when Jones filled in on the right. They also plugged in Crowder.

What has happened to Evan Berry at safety?

Is he not even in the 2 deep?

Hopefully they've been using these closed practices to work him in on the offense. We're stacked at safety and we may be starting a freshman. I agree Evan Berry has a lot of talent and he needs to be on the field so maybe we'll be seeing him scoring some more touchdowns in the very recent future.

Go Vols!

I have no concerns about Robertson; have more confidence in him than any of our other OL right now, and I'm not worrying about those other guys.

With all the kongbo hype, I forgot about butcher. Can someone remind me what's going on with butcher, please? Is his absence related to his injury from last season, or was there something more recent?

Got some good footage and photos today (caught Preston doing the whip). Also, I was over at Anderson Complex/Haslam Field for 4 hours tonight. Some of my observations:

-Trevor Daniel just keeps booming them. I will not be surprised if he is a finalist/winner of the Ray Guy award.

-Jalen Hurd and Corey Vereen were in green jerseys, but they'll be good to go once the season gets here.

-Guarantano was throwing dimes today. This kid is challenging Dormady for the #2 spot already. He's our future for sure. I can already see it.

-Spent a lot of time with the QBs and WRs today. Preston, Malone, and Smith are above everyone else right now, but don't fret. Byrd, Callaway, and yes, even Jeff George are coming along. Also, I finally saw Latrell Williams practicing. The kid is super quick, but needs to develop more in terms of route running and footwork. Azzanni was killing him because he didn't have his feet lined vertically.

-Mahoney was working the O-line really hard today, but that could be said almost every time as he's probably the most intense coach out there. From one of the drills I saw, he had a lot of praise for Ryan Johnson, who may very well be someone who could challenge for that RT position with Hall being out. Charles Mosley was looking solid too.

-Nigel Warrior was playing very fast in a strip drill. He just looks the part of the safety we've needed for years. I'm gonna say it now, he may be the next Eric Berry. He has all the potential in the world and it looks like it every time I watch him. Just relentless pursuit every down.

-The defense seems to love Shoop, as do I. He's aggressive, but not too much. It seems to be a good balance and you can see the players love him. Him and the players joke around sometimes so it's good to see. Plus, he seems to mind us media members okay which is also good. Not to mention, when he talks anything defense or technique, it's like listening to Albert Einstein talk about quantum physics. Just mindblowing how much he knows, and he's very articulate.

-As practice was over and we were standing around Butch with his interview, the kickers were practicing some field goals. Guess who hit the bar again?

Thanks. Quick question, there has been very little talk about Kongbo lately. What should we expect of him?

If I had any faith in Medley I would bet my entire estate on the vols winning the sec this year. He will cost us a game this year if he hasn't improved. I'm more concerned about his leg than I am Dobbs arm.
