Okay, so right off the bat, Guarantano's passes look a lot smoother with a tighter spiral.
I'll give into the side of the argument that would say Dormady is the more accurate passer in the pocket and might have a stronger arm, but when you look at both of them on the rollout, JG's passes looks a lot better.
It really just seems like JG is a much better fit for them to keep a similar scheme on offense as they had with Dobbs, but if they switch to a less running, more pocket-passing approach, similar to the change they made with Dobbs as a senior in regards to him staying in the pocket more for whatever reason, I could see why Dormady might be the favourite coming out of spring.

Eh, I'm withholding judgment.

The last coach we all got on board with because he was fiery was Sunseri.

That temperament can backfire pretty easily.

Seems to demand attention and detail oriented...

Not sold, but like what I see so far..

I like Wells, it doesn't matter if a coach is fiery or not it's if he can get his players to reach their level. Fiery coaches can succeed and fail just like a so called players coach. Nothing wrong with a fiery leader at the O-Line, we have had no so fiery guys that didn't do a very good job either. I am only interested in results. GBO!!!!

I played one year of college ball with Joe Costner at Maryville college. For small college he had a live arm. The threads on the ball would be whistling at you when the ball got close.. and it would just about stick in your ribs.. Dormady seems to throw a similar ball. A really tight spiral...

i love the way both QBs look on the roll out passes

Both look good. I've been hard on Dormady in the past but I must say he's impressing me this off-season.

I'll wait until the spring game but it might not be the disaster I thought it would if he gets the starting.

JG should still get playing time. But I'm warming up to the idea of Dormady potentially being the starting QB.

If I had to bet right now, I think both guys play in the fall.

We might actually run a 2 QB system and these guys might be good enough to make it work.

You obviously don't know much about football if you can't tell the talent difference between JG and QD in that clip...(blue font)

I know your just screwing around but am I wrong to think that Guarantano really does have more velocity on his throws than Dormady? He also appears to have a quicker release with a tighter spiral. If I'm wrong please correct me. I am no expert. (no blue font) :)

Jeff George (not ours :)) was the top pick of his draft and threw beautifully. Didn't recognize coverages well enough and busted. There's more to quarterbacking than throwing contests.

I'm trying to think of a QB that was recognized as such by the velocity or the tight spirals of the balls he threw. Chad Pennington and Danny Weurfeal (don't know how to spell his name) had the weakest arms in the game and among the most the most productive. The winner of this QB battle will win it from the neck up.
